Nice haul! I think I only saw one subway set. Weird. Maybe the next one. Great chatting with you at the show.

That's ALL you got? Just kidding! It looks like you did VERY well for yourself Art, VERY well indeed! Let me tell you, as someone who's been going to a variety of shows (antique, gun, train, flea market, whatever) for the past 45+ years that sense of being overwhelmed when you walk in the front door never really goes away. My head swims for a few seconds or two before I get down to business. Then my way of dealing with it is to make a walk-through of the hall seeing what's there but not buying anything. If I see something tasty I'll make a note of where it is and go back later. The ONLY exception I make to that is if I see something I want and I KNOW it's so scarce no-one else is likely to have it I'll jump on it, doubly so if the price is reasonable. Oh, and if I go back for the tasty-looking article and it's gone it's no big deal, this is just a hobby, not an obsession. I didn't make this York show myself but I'm planning on October. Thanks for posting and I'm looking forward to the follow up! By the way, love the new opening!

I’ve found more of what I was looking for at local shows and eBay than I’ve ever found at York. It’s a fun time but it’s just a fact that I rarely find what I’m looking for at York.

How can you say you run semi scale,when I see purple boxes and Atlas? just curious DAKMAN gave me the scale bug a few years ago.In reality semi scale is better for those who have smaller layouts.
@ArtsModelTrains6 ай бұрын
Excellent point, I have started to grow more into scale locomotives, but still most of my rolling stock and passenger cars are semi scale since my layout just went from O48 to O54 in the last few weeks. In some ways I like the semi scale passenger cars better. For my large locomotives I run lionmaster since I don't have the curves for scale, those need semi scale freight because scale stuff can sometimes dwarf those engines.
