Best wishes to you Dave when it comes to your back. I just got diagnosed with 2 compressed spinal discs which are causing nerve pain in my neck and shoulders, so I can sort of relate. And in regards to trying to grow your channel, I hear ya. I have a small channel. Last year, after 15 years, I cracked 5k subscribers. When you think about it, that’s pretty sad. So I plan on severely cutting back this year as well. I didn’t do the vlog format. I would go to a fair or park, film offride and put up the video. So I think me not having an on-screen personality is what didn’t attract viewers, which I am not sure is entirely true considering one of my vids from July last year topped 11k views 🤷🏻‍♂️. Anyhow, to me, you have always been a great watch, regardless of what you were doing because you have the personality that pulls people in. Do what makes you happy and as you always say, “cheers mate!” 🍻

If you want to grow the channel in terms of subscribers, you probably still need to go down the niche route (originally this was the fairs for you) and as you've touched on, post post post. It has to be treated as a business. The alternative is just to treat it as a lifestyle/sideline hobby and any growth subscriber wise is a bonus. Bear in mind you're already at 37k so a good foundation. All the best.

That's half the trouble mate, Fairs are dying and I've covered everything 10x over so was getting boring for me and my subs, starting a new channel feels like 7 years hard work down the drain. It's tough

@@SlothyVlogs tbh I didn't mean to continue with the fairs as I realise that's a no no for various reasons and yes, the content can be slightly limited variety wise. Easier said than done but if you can find something else that interests you and transition to that, I'm sure a % of your subs will stick with you and new ones will come along. No doubt it's tough though. Again, all the best with it.

I completey understand what your going through. When I was 15 I broke my tailbone and herniated 3 of my lower lumbar vertebrae disks. I had to go through 5 years of epidural injections to correct it. Needless to say in my mid 30s the pain is slowly coming back and will most likely need the surgery in my 50s or 60s. I didnt take the pain meds because in America the medical system likes to get you addicted to pills since we are a capitalism. My recommendation is once you get the epidrals start strength training your back to build up muscle to support your back. Thats what I did and I can still do all the crazy things like mountain biking and snowboarding.

I love doing videos but as you said in your previous video its good to take a break and not post all the time , i like to post when i go to a decent fair or i have a funko pop haul to show , it doesn't matter about the views you are doing something you like and that's all that matters ❤ You didn't anything wrong it was the people who you were with did wrong , they decided to stab in you the back and you took that time away and decided you didn't want to part of that scene anymore, you are doing what you want to do , its your channel Dave, keep doing you 🌟

You do what you need to dude but I only discovered you last week. It’s all down to the algorithm and what moode it’s in. Even the best go through periods where they stall. For example I watch a guy aiming for a million, over 5 weeks they went up by about less than 1%. Then in the last week gone up by 5% in one week! Also from my experience I bet The medication and your health won’t be helping your mental health at moment so don’t do anything you’ll regret! My worry is this video will kill the subscriber count.

Hi Dave. I don't usually do comments on KZbin but on this occasion I have to insist that you stick to making vlogs about fairs. Now I realise that now riding these rides may not be ideal these days but for me I really enjoyed the setup videos. If you could do more of these, I don't know of any other channels that focused on the building of a fair which I found really interesting. The best bit about your vids for me was the behind the scenes stuff, setting up and tearing down, you seemed to know some of the guys that run the fairs so should be easy, it doesn't matter if it's another Waltzer or another Dodgems, I loved that stuff, talking to the crews, etc etc...
