My YouTube channel was hacked for a crypto scam!

On November 8th, 2022 my KZbin channel was hacked to promote a cryptocurrency investment scam and then subsequently taken down by KZbin due to TOS violations by the hacker. This video covers the two days my channel was down and the process for recovering my channel. My channel was recovered on November 10th, 2022.
Despite only being taken down for two days, it was very stressful, as I had no way of knowing if I'd actually get it back. Thankfully I got it back and all is well, but it was still scary not being sure if 12-years of work to build my channel would be deleted.
Thanks to the KZbin support team and everyone on my social media pages for being there with me as it happened. Your support means a lot and I wouldn't be doing this if you weren't there to support me.

whether it's Nigerian crypto scammers using fake English names and profile photos or Nigerian crypto scammers using hacked accounts, it's still KZbin's responsibility to sort it out. their platform is insecure and dangerous.

I didn't realise that this happened to your channel, though I wasn't refreshing my sub box back then due to being occupied with other tasks! I'm sorry that you had to go through all this. But wow am I also so glad you got your channel back, intact! You channel didn't even look like it was harmed or vandalised or anything. Just looks as if nothing had happened at all. Which is a good thing, actually. Though I did see the channel description get updated, but I didn't see any suspicion in that. Besides the pleasure of making videos, I think another reason why we like uploading videos to KZbin despite small viewership is the community! You know, talking to the people in the comments, answering their questions, etc.

Has the hacker changed the Gmail/KZbin password,changed the recovery email,changed the recovery phone number,added a USB security key and changed the Google Authenticator OTP to the Jack stavris KZbin account?

When i got a notification from Ark Invest that started a live video i first tought that my account got hacked because i'm not into crypto stuff and and i knew that it definetly wasn't me the one who subscribed to a crypto channel lol

This hack has probably killed the Pixel and Fossil Videos as the algorithm would see it as no one watched it for a few days and that can easily kill a video

You got _incredibly_ lucky... The same company hacked another channel that I used to be subscribed to, and the owner managed to stop the livestream but couldn't get back into his account; it got terminated a few days later, and he had to cut his losses.

He probably didn't try hard enough to get the account back. Mine was completely locked out and it was fairly simple to get it back. TeamKZbin on Twitter help with these issues all the time.
