@@gloryceeyeditingacademy1 I try to use the title keywords in the first sentence or two in the video but definitely the first 30 seconds is key and also the description. Also the first 30 seconds is the most importantly the entire video in my opinion just like he says here! My last video from a couple days ago didn’t do very well and I think it’s because of that, the one prior on the other hand has a promise and is way more intriguing and it was my best video so far! It’s fun to see how the littlest things you can do make the WORLD of difference, it’s like night and day.

Thank you for this Sean. I just posted six videos (going live at midnight tomorrow on @remprompt) where I scripted everything in notepad... I literally spent TWO weeks writing out everything, including all the information displayed in the Description part of the video on KZbin (tags, description, affiliate links, feedback, etc.). I talk about writing prompts for Copilot AI. I spent the last few weeks going over dozens of THINK Media videos and taking NOTES! I totally agree with the need to script everything. Thank you for this video!

Thanks for another great video... I peaked at 81 and my 10th was 64 however I do have a lot of videos that drop off fast so I am going to work on that 1st 30 seconds. That has been one of my greatest challenges in my niche. I have experimented with intro vs no intro but now realize the intro wastes most of that first 30 seconds and our regular viewers like it but new viewers may not and leave. So, lets see in about a month or two if these numbers improve.... again, thank you for your content! Big fan!!!

Hey man great video. I've managed to grow to 40k subscribers but it's been a real grind as an educational channel about something that schools don't really help people learn about, stocks, finance, and macroeconomics. It feels like the viewers intelligent enough to understand are very hard to reach but once I do, they learn a lot and even teach me sometimes. I'm trying harder to increase the packaging and structure like you mentioned and will continue to do so as I'm very passionate about teaching people about finance and macro issues with solutions. Thanks for the video and info

Love that as a new channel this sort of content is populating on my feed. Super helpful and informative for us newbies. I've gained about 40 subs in a month, baby steps but progress nonetheless. Every new sub gives me that motivation to keep posting. We got this gang 💪

On the first of August this year I have decided I wanted to document kind of my experience learning to Fly FPV drones, well I probably haven't planned this well as now I am posting, or try to post video of me flying around my drone. I think the channel has grown well in the first month or little over, but I did noticed that I do struggle with audience retantion, some of my videos only retain like 17% of the viewers until the end and I mostly lose 50-60% of them after the first 30 seconds, I thought that especially my latest video would have done better in retantion but it actually turned out worse than the previous. I am still learning to edit and shot videos - trying to find and put in practice all the tips and tricks I can find and surely I will start planning my shots more deepely. I have to say tho, that I am still not so confident talking to a camera in an open area sourraunded by other people.

Sean, can you please explain to me when you decide a channel is a failed channel and it is time to start over vs. changing the strategy on that channel? I have been trying to figure this out because I am currently planning to either re-launch my channel after a year off or start a new channel. The niche and video topics will not be significantly different. My existing channel has just over 10k subscribers, but I had plateaued in the last year or two and finally felt I needed to regroup and take a break and come back fresh. I'd love some insight into this. You have been a great help to me over the years. Thank you for your generosity and wisdom.

The HelloFresh cooking metaphor at the end was spot on. You can be told exactly how to do something step by step but if you’re not used to executing it all yourself, it’s still a challenge and an opportunity to grow. Like you said, the food still came out fine, certainly not inedible, but to have a truly excellent meal or KZbin video takes more than just reading a recipe card. That’s the journey we’re on.

I didn't know that I could do most of this. I'm a booktuber. Booktubers do tag videos that are sort of like interviewing yourself on a topic with the questions provided by someone else. I tried coming up with a way to add in all the things you said to put in the first 30 seconds. I couldn't do it. I set the agenda and established authority. I'm not sure how I'd do all that with a To Be Read, monthly wrap-up video, or a book review either. It might be easier with a review. It's late. I'll have to look at it again. Thanks for the ideas.

About six months ago, I had an idea how to improve my church KZbin channel. I watched other channels and noticed how predicable they were. I use a hook technique now as church KZbin channels would just publish a video with someone just taking or having a countdown clock at the beginning. This same content everytime. As you can imagine, people would probably just click away! Not only do I put a unique 20-second hook on the beginning but use lots of not only visualy interesting B roll but captions on screen as well.
