Some additional recommendations that could make up a very decent follow-up, if the vinyls are available. Soviet-era Azerbaijani music was very diverse and well developed. Muslim Magomayev was the best known performer, a true megastar, he sung mainly classical and orchestra pop, but also some folk-influenced music. For some Central Asian grooves, try the bands Yalla and Gunesh. For East Slavic prog-rock and funk, Pesnyary and Ariel. Georgia was famous through its multi-instrumental band Orera.
