Took the Rangoon - Mandalay train in 1977. Quite an adventure, bounced up and down the whole way... people were very nice

It is a great country with a great history and culture. The people are very friendly and warm too. The countryside is pristine.The architecture is out of this world. the West and western media hates Burma because it kept western mutinational corporations out of Burma, so the western media either ignored Burma or demonised it. it is still continuing. in the past there have been three Burmese Empires and the imperial capital was once in Pegu, once in Bagan and once in Mandalay ie mostly around the north centra of Burma.

I hope Burma will has the better train soon, tourism is very supported by the best transportation, I just watched already the landscapes of Burma from youtube and private televisions in my country, Burma really has the beautiful scenery and culture.

What rameez raja wrote is true khin htwe ky-kyi, i think all people who living outside Burma are always admire your country, your country has all what in tourism needed, every regim brings difference policy, and we know there are no regims so perfect to run the governance, every regim always has both side positive and negative, i am living in Indonesia, now led by the 7th president, during the 7th president run this country, always has pro and contra from people here, but it is okay, nobody perfect, everybody has an edge, i hope your country grow as what goverment's plans. May i ask a question khin htwe kyi-kyi, what is the difference Burma and Myanmar, i do not understand, when i was at elementary school my teachers called your country by Burma, then now by Myanmar, are two words have difference meaning and history? The quality of Indonesian train was bad like in this Video, until there is Good transportation minister, his name is Ignatius Jonan who Made a revolution in train service (google it)... Indonesia collaborate with China in MRT project, not train
