Amazing, footage and video compilation Vlad. How many batteries did you carry with you on the trip to ensure you had enough power? Also how did you work with memory? Did you carry a bunch of SDXC's or did you xfer them to a external drive?
@vladimir-morozov8 жыл бұрын
I had 3 batteries with me and on the busy days it was only just enough. I brought an external battery pack with me from which I charged the batteries when not near any mains power. I didn't bring my laptop, had just one 128gb card but also had a WP My Passport Wireless with me - it has an SD card slot right on the box so just insert the card, it copies everything to its 1TB drive, then can wipe the SD card and shoot more. I was away for 2 weeks, shot lots of photos too and needed around 300GB total.

This is one of the most stunning videos I've seen with this camera! Could you share your settings please???? I understand you've shot in S Log but did you use auto ND or other features like that? What did you set your zebra levels to? 75 or higher? And did you use exposure compensation? Thank you!
@vladimir-morozov6 жыл бұрын
Thanks :) used auto ND, zebra at highest setting I think - I may have not used zebra. Exposure was auto. Didn't even lock shutter speed. I think because ibhd lots of light every day, I got away with using almost full auto, slog2 and some grading.

Hey, thanks for the amazing video. Did you use any stabilizer (tripod/gimbal) for your shots? Thanks!
@vladimir-morozov6 жыл бұрын
dkijc all shot handheld. The slow motion makes it look smoother than real-time.
@dkijc6 жыл бұрын
Yea, that's what I love about slow mo. thank you for the reply! I have two (conjoined) questions! How do you make your shots look like it has almost no noise with iso1600? Was your light condition that good??! This leads me to second question. Would Cine2 be better than slog2 in certain situations because of noise / highlight blowout? Thanks in advance :)
@vladimir-morozov6 жыл бұрын
dkijc I think the lack of noise here is due to most of the filming being outdoors with plenty of light and also I exposed the the right (Google ETTR if. It familiar). Cine profiles, or even the standard profile I'm sure would be fine in some situations - it would be fine when there is not too much dynamic range. If you're shooting indoor for example and there are no bright light sources or windows and not too much shadows then slog2 isn't really needed. If the histogram is all contained in the middle with no bots off to any side, then standard profile is fine. I shot everything slog2 just because it's less to think about (switching back and forth) and easier to grade everything of everything is slog2.
@someday73339 жыл бұрын
Did you have a tripod or some type of mount? Looks real smooth
@vladimir-morozov9 жыл бұрын
I think one of these shots was shot using a tripod the rest are all handheld. The more footage is slowed down, the smoother it appears.

Fantastic work, I've got the same camera but find grading the slog2 "challenging" I often find it too noisy. Can I ask if you used any pre-set LUTS when grading as you did a great job.
@vladimir-morozov8 жыл бұрын
I didn't find any LUTS useful at all. I agree it is challenging. I've got no experience grading footage from any other camera so it was a very steep learning curve. Regarding noise, I agree there seems to be quite a lot at the ISO used for slog2 but exposing to the right seems to help a little. I guess the noise is inevitable for this sensor size.

@vladimir-morozov8 жыл бұрын
The footage from this camera is already quite sharp. To make vibrant - increase saturation. Export options aren't too important - export at least as Apple 1080p. Experiment with the colour effects. Hope this is enough to get you started :)

@vladimir-morozov8 жыл бұрын
+khaled alkendi No problem :) I used picture profile 7 which is the slog2 profile. Google ETTR (Expose To The Right) - it helps with slog2 and helps to reduce noise. If you use slog2, you will need to be familiar with colour grading too - there are plenty of tutorials online.

Great!:) Can you do manual focus or exposure while recording a video on a Sony RX100IV?
@vladimir-morozov7 жыл бұрын
Not sure. I would guess yes with normal video but no with HFR. Not something I’ve ever needed. Moving the jog wheel or lens wheel during shooting would produce shaky video. You can achieve the rack-focus effect by using auto focus on an item on a different focal plane, then reframe while shooting. By the time autofocus catches up, you have rack-focus.

How did you deal with the noise, since PP7 doesn't go below 1600 ISO? great video anyway, congrats!!
@vladimir-morozov8 жыл бұрын
TommyMila Ive covered that in some of the other comments. Briefly; ETTR (expose to the right) Google it if your not familiar. And also in post, drop the exposure of the darker end of the spectrum. These two techniques will reduce noise. I didn't use any noise reduction plugins (but you can do that too).
