North East India rebel groups and tribals played a big role. I know India and adani supported the junta. Tribals are not against GOI but in Myanmar they are different interests. Either way both serve India's interest. There has been some friction with the some group of BJP government in the region but BJP allies weren't on the same path on this issues. No talking from both sides just actions but you can read between the lines of you read carefully.
@FellaHAILIRA

@@HungLingLim They are technically rebels. We are bordered to Myanmar so I know bits and bits. The biggest problem will arise after the war is won. Unless big efforts are made into rehabilitating the rebel (these regions have one of the oldest political insurgencies in the world) and they are equally inducted in the formation of the government under a new power sharing system with some form of special autonomy. It can lead to the continuation of insurgency problems in the region, requiring the state to have a strong military to counter them and thereby repeating the history.

When I went to Myanmar years ago I was blown away by the generosity, kindness and warmth of the people there. I remember being invited into the hut of a family there while it was pouring rain. They had a tiny hut and were in the middle of eating their lunch. They BARELY had enough food to feed themselves and were offering my friend and I to join them in eating lunch with them. They offered us snacks and packets of this and that. We offered money in exchange but they would more often than not flatly refuse and tell us we were "Honored guests". I was stunned. One of the few places in the world that hasn't been spoiled by foreign tourists. Here's hoping the situation improves there

As a Myanmar Citizen, I really happy for this situation.When Myanmar was ruled by the Japanese, the country gained its independence because all the armed forces organized and resisted the Japanese. The reason for the civil war is that there was no open principle among the leaders of the armed resistance forces from the beginning. My concern is that even in the current situation, I hope there is openness among the leaders, I hope they have plans for the future that everyone can accept. When there is a common enemy, everyone organizes and attacks. When the common enemy disappears, they attack each other again.

The NUG has agreed to implement a truly federalized state, and as long as they adhere to that vision for the country, they have a good chance of uniting these armed groups. For a long time, democratic forces in Burma were forced to toe the ethnic unity line of the military in order to try to avoid a coup. Now, they are free from that pressure.

if what you mean by Myanmar’s neighbors are ASEAN countries then you need to understand that in one of ASEAN treaty said that no ASEAN countries should interfere with each other’s political situation no matter what happens because ASEAN is only focusing on economy, culture, health, education, and defense. also, by letting those people fight for their own freedom they will be stronger than being helped by their neighbors.

This demonstrates that when ethnic and religious groups put their differences aside and come together in a coalition for universalist principles (democracy, freedom and equality), it is possible to defeat any dictatorship. However, if they had fallen into sectarianism, these victories would have been impossible.
