And the reason they where checking passports every two hours is because that side of the country is land they fought with other countries to claim its also land by the red sea so they try to smuggle a lot through there which is why its heavily secured and why they are constantly checking please make sure you have a tour guide you trust when travelling to Egypt to anyone reading this.
