The giants finding a way to lose, is probably the most giant thing right now. These are my observations both good and bad: Even when Jones looks amazing in Zone Read, and utilizes his legs as a threat, they still find some way to lose games on key downs. Notice for every drop the giants had for a score in the end zone, the Washington football team had some unknown players make in clutch 3rd downs to keep drives alive late in the game. Garret needs to keep Jones in that Zone read and maybe consider switching to a power run. I think Jones being more incentivized to use his legs will be the key for the giants moving forward. The biggest trust issue I have is his pocket awareness. He doesn’t know when to use his legs to escape the pocket to create positive yards on broken plays. Unless it’s a design run first pass scheme. Jones is a dual threat qb, not a pure pocket passer. You’re not going to get 40 solid throwing attempts out of him because he’s not a great decision maker. Jones is just an okay qb, definitely not worth a first round pick. But it’s what the giants have now, and they have to put more plays for Jones to use his legs outside the pocket. It’s their only way to succeed this year. This was definitely the giants game to win, the Washington football team is actually the inferior team. Because the giants kept placing themselves in situations to win this game and finding someway to hand it back over. That drop pass in the end zone, failing to recognize receivers on key downs, even when the defense gave them the ball back, they didn’t capitalize and put the game away. Giants committed 11 penalties including one at the end of the game. When you don’t score touchdowns, you put more pressure on your kicker to perform (luckily he did), but even if he does, you give the opponent a chance to steal games late. If one or two of those field goals were tds, giants could’ve easily punished the football team.

Once again we were left with blue balls from getting so anxious about the game. That we sit so close to the edge of the seat, causing a strangulation effect on the boys.
