The reason why Volkswagen group cars had high service costs was that the parts were also imported. Their labour charges were heavy. Now they have localised 95% of the car and reduce labour charges by 20%. The company already knows that they have a bad reputation for service cost that's why they are offering a 4 year maintenance package. They are really changing their game with these new cars.

I still can't trust Volkswagen group on service costs... I had Vento for 4 years. Every service used to cost me more than 15K during first 2 years and then it started costing me more than 20k. Same happened with few of my friends too

Good one...as I am having maruti esteem 2004 vxi type 3 model and even though it is from big brand maruti but it still costs me 15-20k yealry maintenance....so guys come out of your dreams and don't just believe that germen cars are expensive to maintain...check their service period...15k and then oil change...where as in hundai,maruti you need to change oil after 7-8k km.....logically you are doing 2 services of maruti and volkswagon 1 services...so some idiots will blame europian cars...

There are lot of parts in Skoda cars that would give up which are not covered under warranty. The rotors are the major one the service center would blame our driving style even though we would have driven carefully. The battery is another weak point they are not using Exide or Amaron in the car. So the chances are high that they would be gone. Suspension is also another thing. Steering knobs, AC vents would also break (no warranty for this). The Skoda service centers are arrogant. Currently they are behaving OK as we can escalate to Zac hollis but once he is transferred' The skoda owners would suffer. PLEASE READ SKODA HORROR STORIES AND THEN DECIDE. Skoda /VW cars are pain to maintain after 4 years. Please use your mind and decide

very reasonable price for Rs 60000 for an AMC (clutch plate replacement itself can cost around half of it). With the service AMC and other schedule it is another point going against Hyundai and Kia...Tension hi nikal diya Skoda ne maintenance cost ki. Day by day it is going better and better option and I am tempted to buy one. Average for 8 years comes to approx Rs 6500/- per year
