When it comes to rendering the French lute repertoire with zest and elegance, Maestro Hopkinson Smith remains second to none.

Thank you very much for uploading. Speaking as a lute player, and as someone who appreciates exquisite lute music by a superb master player such as HS, this is one of the greatest treasures on YT, and anywhere else for that matter.

At the opposite you can find can find the entire works by Pierre Attainngnant in free download on the BnF (Bibliothèque nationale de France= French National Library website) but you must learn first the french revival lute notation. Tthere'are good explanations of the different lute notations in the three principal ancient systems on the website ofthe Guild of America Lute (ftrnvh, oyalian and german) gallica.bnf.fr/services/engine/search/sru?operation=searchRetrieve&version=1.2&query=%28gallica%20all%20%22Pierre%20Attaingnant%22%29&lang=fr&suggest=0#resultat-id-1

I don't know why, but particularly this first song of the playlist makes me think of D'artagnan and the three musketeers, walking along the 17th century streets! haha Thank you for sharing!

You can also go onto dirpy.com, paste this video's url (internet address) into the box, click on "dirpy!" next to it, edit the metadata for the audio file, and finally click "record audio". Your file might take quite a while to even start downloading, and weirdly enough once it has you can't see the proportion of it that has already been downloaded. Also most annoyingly in this case where the exact start and finish of each song isn't listed, you can only download twenty minutes at a time by editing the numbers next to the "record audio" button. Additionally it somehow downloads the audio file under no file extension name (what determines what format to read the file in to the eyes of the computer). So the file won't have an icon, and each time you open it (in Windows 10 anyway), you will have to explicitly choose to open it with the audio media player of your choice, and in the case of Windows Media Player click on "yes" to the question "do you want to try reading it" when opening it. If you're technical you can edit the file extension to say ".mp3" to not have to deal with that each time you open the file but i don't know how to do that. But this site is free, doesn't care for copyright, doesn't track you more than any other site listed on google, doesn't ask for any extra download or program installation, doesn't ask for registration :) (and god forbid doesn't ask for you to enter your credit card details)

Alternatively you can install some form of advert blocking extension for your internet browser, such as the aptly named Adblock or Adblock Plus. Just typing "adblock [the name of your browser]" in google should get you there.

But stop the advertising, it's a shame and lack of tespect to the performer, to the composer and the audience!!!!!!
