She is a beauty and she moves so gracefully in the water. For a sailing purest she's perfect.

Cheers and two thumbs up for old school “analog” navigation.! I taught Orienteering - Map & compass for desert travel. Maps, books and compasses dont need batteries and are hard to break! Also love the scissors protractor!👍🏻😊

I just love the scissors being used as dividers. I will definitely be doing that..

I love this! I also have a classic yacht and can relate to all the uncertainty and pressure around sailing decisions. And great to see a yacht sold to someone who will keep her in good shape. Don't stop making these films! Thanks

For tugboats towing oil, whenever conditions were too rough, an entry of *Wx* would be made in the log, meaning Weatherbound until they improved. For it is well known to any skipper worth their salt that the schedule is more flexible than the bow... and the greatest hazard while still in port is coming down with a case of GetThere-itis

Hope you both, plus the boating community comes out OK following the weeks storm onto Ireland and Scotland . I snapped a picture of your sky-over-masts, at film time 16:25 for it's just to sweet to pass up ! My best to you all ! Canyon

I have been looking at classic boats for the last three years coz there seems bargains to be had yet am rather a bit timid of them or to be more precise their maintenance need. My school boy wooden pencil case project was a thing only a mother could love yet mine threw it on the fire as mistaken kindling... So she said! Think it conflicted with her collection of porcelain cats on the mantle piece in truth... )

@markboden45923 жыл бұрын
Entertaining. Simple is better....except those dividers must require some skill! Beautiful boat.

Love her curved cabin trunk. Have always liked that on classics...What a nice transition for both of you. Best of luck and what's a tidal book? :-)
@markturner42195 жыл бұрын
Tidal Book aka Tidal atlas is a book that shows/tells you direction and speed of tidal flows in a locality for each hour after high water. Best used in conjunction with tidal curve chart(tells the tidal height above LAT) and almanac tells the time of high and low water.

I was confused for a minute, when I saw the name and then saw the video. I was thinking, "There is no way that Tally Ho is smaller than this", and then I realized that this is not the Betty II that was designed by Albert Strange for Charles Hellyer. Nonetheless, she is a very pretty vessel.

The two best days: The day you buy the boat and the day you sell it.
@tommypetraglia46884 жыл бұрын
I don't know... if you go back to the earlier vid on this boat, Ben comes across as very attached, it's just that he has an understated British way of showing it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bn6te5uVoKaGqpY I would dare to say in that same understated way there's pain on his face right after he signs over the boat. Here at 0:40. Watch at the point where he wipes his mouth It's hard, and I know it, when we must give up those of our pursuits on account of age. He was asked in the previous video if this was his boat for life, but he minced words about one day it becoming too much boat to handle. (@ 10 mins in prev vid) But there was a sense of relief his custodianship was over and he was able to hand over this living artifact through time all in one piece. 3:00 So what does this tell us? That the boat, like a house, or a piece of collected art, are living entities in themselves, and are only owned by people in their own time, cared for and curated then passed on to the next.. in many cases a long line of continuance. Thus each individual owner has the honor of their name as an integral part of its history
@lesterwyoung4 жыл бұрын
@Thoth Al Khem I have owned six in total. My remark was slightly tongue-in-cheek, to be taken lightly. BTW, I don't currently own a boat, and have no desire to!
