Lovely couple, lovely boat, lovely video -- haven't been sailing in years, just bought a 12-foot fiberglass boat, very similar in hull shape, lapstrake as well, and I plan to do some of the things to mine that they've done to theirs. I want to teach my grandsons to sail (That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!) . . .

Ah, now you've got me, personally, targeted! I've been looking at sail & oar boats in the 14 to 19 foot range over the last year, with Vivier, Oughtred, and Welsford designs being the obvious stars, and Ross Lillistone a lesser known, but still very worthy candidate. You've turned out another lovely video, with a great little boat and a very winning couple. They've certainly gilded the lily, but I can't say I wouldn't do it, myself, under the right conditions. :)

Is the lovely Welsh lake in the mountains Lake Vyrnwy by any chance? Me and my wife ended up there purely by chance a few years back and managed to hire the only dinghy in sight, an old wooden wayfarer. It was the best sailing we’ve ever done! Beautiful place.

Beautiful boat, may I ask,is the head sail or jib a nice addition to the balanced lug. I'm building a Penny Fee and I have options of a balanced lug with or without mizzen, and a Gaff rig,with or without mizzen. I am going to start with lug yawl with a view to adapting to Gaff at a later stage.But if the lug with jib works I might just add the bowsprit and forget about the Gaff set up.

EdithHead see attached link www.vivierboats.com/en/new-morbic-12-for-sale/ the web is a wonderful thing, €9,600 seem expensive to me for a sailing dinghy only my opinion.

Oh yes, I can understand Sarah Curtis very well. With that really pretty beauty, you've got a nice conversation starter. My experiences are the same. And I always feel very proud, when sailors of all those big ships come to me stating that my boat is the most beautiful in the harbour. Besides that, I am very keen about this phantastic trailer. Do you have details about it? Have a great sailing season Bjoern from shallop "Knutt"

Hi there, this is the reply from the owner: The trailer came from Admiral Trailers Ltd., Unit 28, Flightway Business Park, Dunkeswell, Devon. EX14 4RJ. Tel. 01404 891 913. www.admiraltrailers.co.uk They shaped the trolley to the hull shape, (from a provided profile), and fitted docking arms. One docking arm snapped just above the bracing. Too much unbraced weight waving around when towing! Had it re-welded then cut both arms off short and extend them with push on plastic waste pipe before launching. Otherwise an excellent trailer that does well what it should. For reference it was ordered by Adrian Donovan, the boat builder, and collected in April 2016.

Nice boat but that lower transom edge does drag underwater. Less drag if it was smaller or did not show up until it was a bit further aft and thus up out of the water.

“Beauty” = Agreed. “ ..could be the best 12ft dinghy you'll ever see” - We’ve sailed ours a few times and can confirm it is a great little boat. “… only two that we know of in the UK” - Possibly true when filmed. There are now several currently in build, and believe others may already be sailing. There is a UK Morbic website

Have a look at their web site www.vivierboats.com all become clear. A saloon car? That's a 1950's UK expression for a family 4 door medium price range car. Thanks for watching

@q.e.d.91125 жыл бұрын
steve1978ger It is and they said so. The Gunter was a different boat they had. Incidentally, a Gunter is properly referred to as a “Gunter lug”. A very handsome and practical little boat, IMO.
