Huge Hoya Haul & Complete Hoya Collection!

I'm from Australia and have started a Hoya collection while in self isolation due to the Covid-19 pandemic... I have 15 I.D'd which include Krimson Princess, Fungii, Diversifolia, Samoensis, Bordenii, Memoria, Cumingiana V. Santos, Camphorifolia, Kentiana, Tsangii, Erythrostemma, Acuta Albomarginate, Heuschkeliana + 3 who aren't I.D'd... I have four more due for delivery and they're Densifolia, Litoralis, Pubicalyx Jungle Garden & Pubicalyx Pink-Silver... Yes, I'm slightly obsessed!! lol I'm fascinated by the leaves and flowers of these plants, they're just gorgeous and so diverse!

I do not own, nor had I ever seen a hoya in person. I recently saw a Hoya carnosa Krimson Princess👸😍😍. Oh my word..I am in love, it is so beautiful. I did not purchase it because it was pretty big and in a hanging basket already. Like you, I like watching them grow so I will have to find a smaller one. Great haul love the weird one😉. I have stayed away from Hoyas b/c I have heard they are prone to mealy bugs😱 and I haven't had any pests besides fungus gnats (knock on wood).

I bought my first hoya about 3 years ago and since I did well with it I started really getting into them also. They are very easy care for me. Although being a little older I have a hard time buying tiny plants or cuttings. I like buying a little bigger plants. They are more expensive, but I now have 5 and hoping to find more.

This is actually the way Eastern European sellers sell plants. Even aroids. You know what you are buying since you can see the roots. Also, you can buy rare hoyas here for maximum 10 dollars per unrooted cutting. You picked great ones! Enjoy them.

What a lovely collection of hoyas Nicole! And that haul, wow! Great unusual species! I've been buying my hoyas from a specialist nursery in Spain and I've been thrilled with them. It's difficult for me to order plants from outside the European Union because they get slapped with huge import fees, usually amounting to more than the cost of the plants themselves 😨 If you, like me, like hoyas with unusual leaves, try to hunt down a kanyakumariana... Tiny little fuzzy crinkly light green leaves, it's adorable 😍

I just got my first Hoya curtsii this week. The little leaves are so sweet. It didn't come in the best shape from seller so it's in rehab zip lock bag with spagh. Fingers crossed it takes well.

Nice haul Nicole. But darn you, I really like Hoya, I already have too many other plants and it’s hard for me to keep up with them, but....... now I have to look into your seller. I’ve been purposely avoiding indoor plant channels because I get hooked, and that’s a bad thing when I have no more room to put plants. Well I have the room but no light, and while I do have grow lights they can look pretty tacky in my situation. I’m concentrating on my outdoor plants/ flowers right now but I’m sure I will be back to bug you this fall/ winter. 95% of my indoor plants are currently outside enjoying this erratic weather we’ve been having and I think the other 5% will be moving out there shortly. I hope your outdoor garden/ plants/ flowers are doing well for you. Keep on growing💚🙃

Hi Nicole. I like your Hoya collection. I do not have any hoya’s In my plant collect but I would like to wait until I thin out some of my other plants before I get hoya’s. I have never grown a plant in leca. Do plants do better in leca and are they less likely to get fungus gnats in Leca?

Hi! You won’t get fungas gnats in leca. Fungas gnats live and breed in the top 1-2 inches of soil. They need moist soil. So leca has eliminated them for me!!
