I use different ones! Mod Podge matte spray, mod podge matte in the bottle, gloss mod podge if u want it to shine, Krylon matte spray is also good!

Use Matte spray. Than wait and do touch up paints w/ A $2 Walmart acrylic _Painters_ (fine tip) Paint pen.. Or use the more expensive _Posca_ acrylic paint pens. Those ones have natural sealent. And of course always sand paper anything before you paint.
