I too buy used books and I love when they come with notes, pages or passages marked. It gives me a glimpse of someone else who liked the book enough to make it their own. It's a history of the book and I find it fascinating.

This was wonderful 😊 I love to find used gems as well. I recently found an old 1st grade reader from 1898. The cover is a little worn but all of the pages are intact. It has poems of Persephone, little red riding hood and the wind and the moon. (And more). I found it in a local “antique” store for a few dollars. It’s on my alter for my inner child. 🦋

oh my god i have the exact same issue with my botanica deck! I bought it from the indie publisher; it must just have been a bad batch. I thought I had caused that damage, and I was really feeling bad for it, nice to know it's on the publishers end!

Maggie is my favorite author, the raven boys are my absolute fave books, back in the day when was realized the first book I was there and in fact was Maggie who made me get finally into tarot, so I will always love Maggie, the boys and the raven deck, they will live forever in my ❤️.

The soft old decks are delicious. Also I think older card stock was more soft and strong but less coated in plastic. Could listen to you all day. I set up by June journal while I listened and watched. Thank you Candy.

I loved seeing your well loved disheveled decks and Treasures 🥰This was a fun tag ! I remember you telling us about the Iris Oracle story and it sounds just like something i would do lol. I spray everything i don't like the smell of with my favorite body sprays lol. I also loved how the imperfections in your Botanica Tarot just made you love it all the more ! I also loved how you mended your little nick nack with hot glue and gold paint ! It looked Beautiful 😊You can fix anything and make it Beautiful ! I love thrift shopping it is one of my favorite things to do. I wish we could go thrift shopping together ! I would really love that ! If you have another deck that smells you could put it in a box cover the deck with a scarf and put a sachet with white sage and other herbs like lavender it will smell wonderful. I have a forest blend I love and I add it to the sachet it smells so wonderful after that.

Enjoyed this candy, really interesting decks like you I love the sweet twilight tarot it reminds me of Tim Burtons films a special type of world. I wish the art on the cards were a bit bigger to pick out all the details. I love secondhand things especially books, and I find the cardstock on old decks are really nice. The rainbow doll you have my daughter had one and loved it so much, so thankyou for showing it brings back so many happy memories 😊 😘🙏💓

My botanical deck I ordered from same place had scratches like yours as well. Funny story tho- I saw your unboxing of Raven's Prophecy and ordered it immediately..not two weeks into working with the deck- I knocked over a glass of Pepsi( not an uncommon feat for me- don't ask me how many keyboards I have replaced)..so a few of my cards have water damage as well..twinsies..LOL

I got a vintage deck that smelled hugely of mold. I put it in a leather bag that another used deck had come to me in. The mold smell is very faint now. Might help with your marker smell. This deck also has a child's bite mark on one card. I wonder where they are now. 🙂
