I avoided Dramas because of subtitles but wanted to see Paradise in the theater, found out subtitles were no problem to enjoy the story. I then watched Train to Busan and enjoyed it, too, a friend suggested checking out Korean Dramas so I watched Let's Fight Ghost which I enjoyed, next was Abyss and then Possessed which sealed my love for the genre. In Possessed everybody dies, that's when I knew the Korean entertainment was on a whole other level. I am now in about 100 dramas and continue to enjoy them very much.

For me I became K-drama addict because of Jumong and it was the first K-drama but I don't know if I can call it a drama but if it can't be described as K-drama it was still the best and I won't ever forget the way me and my family we were addicted to that Korean drama(Jumong) when we spent about 21 hours watching that and also Heirs came after and I also consider that as my best or the cause of being K-drama addict ❤ Proud to be a K-drama addict because it's funny and relieving 😉 And I thank Mydramalist because it's among the websites which are making me or inspiring me to keep being K-drama lover❤ Also ''Scarlet moon lovers:Ryeo" can also be included because that drama stole my ❤️ And "Hwarang"

I got my father HOOKED on Kdramas by making him watch "Crash Landing on You" with me for my birthday. I asked him to watch 3 episodes and we ended up binging it within 2 days 😆

My journey started in 2001 with My Love Patzzi starring a young Jang Na-Ra then Hotelier with Bae Yong-Joon right before Winter Sonata… Two dramas in and I was already hooked! But it was this very little known drama on KBS called So, This Is Love …it was absolutely amazing! Incredible Family Drama… and my first exposure to the amazing Youn Yuh Jung… 20 years BEFORE her Oscar… it was THIS little drama that changed my entire entertainment life…

Gosh since princess hours boys over flowers days back then, then I stopped..then here comes the heirs onwards..year 2016 til now I can't stop rooting for kdramas..Im not fond of western drama and movies anymore..hallyu specifically kwave is so unfathomable and beyond in giving a very incredible plot twist and storylines.. brilliant super❤❤❤

I've started binging K-Drama since 2020 and I'm at my 237 films/series with 104 more to go as indicated on my list (Yes, I keep track on an Excel sheet). I work full time as well. I became addicted to Kdrama in 2019 when I watched 'Crash Landing On You' and 'Mr. Sunshine.' These two are on my list of favorites along with many others. Who would have thought that from then on I be watching so many Kdramas and Cdramas (Chinese dramas) that I will only know the actresses and actors just by what drama they were in?😂😍❤🌸

My Love From Another Star is the one that got me for Korean dramas. I watched that one from a fan titled site back when it was first aired. I swear the internet is wrong though. I distinctly remember watching it back in 2004 - 2006 time frame. The same time Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon and Hana Yori Dango Japanese series aired. Back then streaming services didn't exist or subtitles in general. So fan sites existed were fans subtitled the series, then uploaded them as torrents. If the series ever officially became subtitled and sold (which it never did back then), then it was removed from the site.

According to official stats, the Hallyu wave started in 1999. I've been a K-drama addict since 2004 so I was lucky to catch many of the earlier dramas. I hardly watch American shows or movies anymore. With the ongoing popularity of K-dramas and after being picked up by Netflix, K dramas have gained global recognition. However, in my opinion, Netflix tends to select dramas that feature graphic sex or violence to suit Western audiences. This is the same thing that turned me off to American shows. Despite Squid Game being Netlfix's biggest hit, I found it to be overhyped and contained senseless killing and violence. It's no wonder that no S Korean programming wanted to touch it and it took the writer 10 years before Netflix agreed to bankroll it.
