This brings back happy memories! The lady who made our wedding cake made 2 layers of almond amaretto cake for our wedding day, topped with a beautifully decorated marzipan grooms' cake that we were to freeze, and eat on our first anniversary. I thought it would be the same as the main cake, but the flavor was even richer! I didn't know of the symbolism until today - 30 years later! Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe! ❤

How sweet! thank you for the wedding pictures that you posted. it reminds me of my own 36 years ago with my german husband who was a Bäckermeister. He passed last year weeks before our 35th anniversary. He made our wedding cake with butter cream and marzipan roses. love your videos.

It was indeed a struggle and I hate it when videos make everything look easy when they aren‘t. I don‘t want people to question themselves when they struggle at the difficult parts. Also, I love to laugh about myself. Not being perfect is part of the design 😆

Viele Menschen hier haben deutsche Wurzeln aber die Rezepte der deutschen Großmutter oder Mutter wurden oft nicht aufgeschrieben. I teach at the volkschule...crossover German/Scottish...missed it all since COVID...I learn lots!...I show stuff too ..you are doing a great job of highlighting German food 👍...it is great, just the presentation is a bit meat and two veg!...it's simple without style .not a criticism...just a wow factor is missing sometimes...the ingredients are spectacular compared to what I have to use at home ..the markets have more than one variety of pears/apples/mushroom/..the list is endless..the UK is rubbish for quality... looking forward to being back in Germany again...
