Bought Maxfli Tour on sale 48 balls at Dick’s Sporting Goods and they are by far the best balls I’ve played. I like the softer feel compared to the Tour X and we’re definitely longer off the tee. Didn’t notice the inconsistencies that you describe but I do have a slower swing speed (93-100 club head speed).

I was shocked how at long the Maxfli Tour is actually. It might be the longest ball out there. I blew it by the Pro V1. You are right, it is so hot that it is hard to hold greens with anything less than a 7 iron or so.

I had the same thing happen with the Tour compared to the X. I'm playing the Tour X now, but during tournaments, I actually play Pro V1x Left Dash. The Tour X is great for practice rounds and both of those (the Prov1x Left Dash and the Tour X) react and feel the same to me.

For me, the Tour was lower-launching and lower spinning than the Tour X. I am naturally a low-spin player who tends to hit a draw by default, so the extra spin and height of the Tour X is welcome. That being said, individual results vary. If you hit a high ball but without adequate spin you run the risk of knuckleballs that don't carry. It's hard to look at one characteristic in a vacuum for that reason. This review was also for the previous generation ball, I believe Maxfli has recently released updated versions, though I suspect they will behave similarly.

Just watched the review. Very nice! Of course I have 6 dozen Vice pro's coming in this week and now just priced these tour x on Dicks website at only $105 for 4 dozen. I think it's a flash sale. I might have to grab these too. Dang I'm losing $$ quick

Where did you find details on Tour X coming in yellow? I saw they released a Matte White for the X and a Yellow for the regular Tour already but haven’t heard anything about the X in yellow

Compared to ProV, where would you put the Tour X spin wise? The Tour sounds right up my alley but hearing that it seemed to spin inconsistently is a shame. Did you ever test these on a LM?

I don't play the ProV enough to give you a good answer. No LM testing either, unfortunately. I'm still rocking the MTB-X and am happy with their performance.

I’m a highish swinger (105-110 driver 88-90 7-iron) who tends to produce a bit of excess spin which is why I’ve had to bail on kirklands. Which do you feel you’d recommend from your testing and experience? #Sub70Rocks

I've never hit the KSigs but I know they spin a lot. The Tour X does seem to spin a bit more than the Tour. But I don't find it excessive, though I usually need the spin. I personally find the Tour X to be very close to both the Snell MTB-X and ProV1x. That may help you more.

what did you end up playing? i also had to move away from the kirklands and also play sub70 clubs lol. i used the 2019 tour x but i dont know if its spinning to much.

@@adl9705 Fellow Sub70er! Nice! I gave away the regular Tours to someone else to try and kept the Tour X's until I lost them all. To my knowledge they have not yet released a yellow version of the Tour X. So, when Snell opened up their value packs for ordering again I bought five dozen more yellow MTB-Xs. Still my favorite ball and right around the same cost as the Maxflis.

Correct me if I'm wrong but grading the balls individually was 15 (durability) + 15 (looks) + 40 (on course) + 20 ( bag y/n) for a total of 90 pts but somehow you managed to make it a 100pt scale? Did you edit and leave a 10pt grading out?

Ha! Nice catch. Yes, you are correct. The "Miscellaneous" category was left out of the video. You can read my full review here: forum.mygolfspy.com/tests/12-test-in-progress-maxfli-tourtourx/ I gave the balls 7/10 in that category, mostly due to some discrepancies between the factory marked CG line and the results of my testing with my Check-Go-Pro device.

You didn’t mention that the alignment aid is aligned with the center of gravity, like what theCheck-Go does.

Good catch. If you visit my written review on the MGS forums I did test the CoG line in my Check-Go Pro and not everything lined up on every ball... Not sure which one was right.

my swing speed is between 95 - 105. I could use the extra distance that the Tour ball provides. But not at the cost of inconsistent reactions on the greens. In your opinion, do you think I'll get decent distance if I use the Tour X ball at 95 to 105 swing speed?

Tough to tell! At the 2/$60 deal that runs often I might recommend trying each! They're both great balls.

Sure, assuming you like the qualities of the ball. I found it very similar to the Snell MTB-X and ProV1x. More spin, more firm than the regular Maxfli Tour.
