I am a Ghanaian American and i can travel to Canada ,UK and all the European countries without a visa . Can you also do same as a Ghanaian ? I dont think so . All what Mr Happiness is trying to tell the govt of Ghana and the people is the system of governance in Ghana is very poor . If you go to university but you cant apply what you studied then you have a problem in the head . We must be sincere and honest to the people of Ghana .

Kofi Gabs is saying PhD in Ghana not Ghanaian's with PhD overseas. What is PhD in Ghana if you can't even buy bread or feed your family?? that is the point.

With a Dutch passport, you can earn a stress free PhD in Netherlands with sponsorship. Still Dutch Passport over Ghana PhD
@kelugu37765 ай бұрын
Depends on the PhD. Education can open doors that a passport cannot. Also, no one can take your PhD away from you if you earned it. The same can't be said of naturalisation. As soon as the Dutch have had enough of Africans in their country, the dream of earning more as a toilet cleaner in the Netherlands will be over.😂

He was a Visual designer & Graphics printing technician in Ghana not a cleaner. He is a cleaner in now in Holland.

I'm finding it difficult to understand these discussion. I mean PHD is the highest academic degree, just like a medical doctor. There're very few people with PhD... Passport is a document for travelling, Most advanced countries passport allow their nationals to travel visa free for max. 90 days. The reason here is, their not high risk to over stay and their government strike deals with countries to scrap of visa requirements for it nationals Having a Dutch or western passport doesn't put food on your table. The main opportunity it gives you is to travel visa free. The sad part which no one talks about is, even with that acquired passport, natives don't consider you as part of their society. These goes through generations. Let say even if you great great great grand father had that passport and you also get, you're not most often considered. You can have the passport, but even job opportunities will pass by... They'll prefer Obroni instead. If you travel in other countries you're scrutinized and shamed by immigration officers because you don't look Dutch or speak like them....if you clean and have Dutch passport, you don't earn enough to save to travel. Also you have only 4 weeks vacation in a year... So how often can you use that passport? Now someone who worked hard to acquire PhD in Ghana, has unlimited opportunities in Ghana and abroad. PhD from Ghana are accredited. Even if not, it can be converted to meet the standards of other countries... Recently most advanced countries lack skilled workers. Even teachers and nurses are being granted work permit to relocate to US or UK. This means having a PhD from Ghana gives you even much better opportunities to use it abroad. You will earn 10x what a cleaner with Dutch passport earns. No need to compare since it's totally different

I liked your comment because everything you said is true. But I think Kofi Gabs mainly used the Dutch passport to compare to PHD because he wanted to compare something basic in the Netherlands to something very difficult to attain in Ghana. I think the point he's making, is showing the flaw in the Ghana system.

@@thegreat149 That was not a good or clever comparison. If you have those passports the natives of the country don't accept you to be from that country. Even our half cast kids are not accepted to be a proper national. What makes it worse is, if you do cleaning jobs, you're not even respected in the society. You often reside in low income areas. PhD holder are some like doctors trained in Ghana universities. So does it mean those medical doctors in Ghana are not doing their work well? Blame your government for not creating avenues for PhD holders to research.... PhD holders are innovators and builders of a nation. We should respect and create avenues for them to be innovators. We don't have research institutions or companies they can research innovative ideas for. most often, they must teach at the universities.... Passport anyone can get... I don't remember even where my passport is... You only need for travelling... How often do we even travel in a year?
@spuknicjones95315 ай бұрын
@@thegreat149 normally a PhD holder in Ghana teaching at Lagon or KUST must have a decent life and respected in our society, than a Ghanaian cleaner in Holland. Unless you haven't travelled before.... Cleaning won't earn you much money to leave a middle class life Europe. You're technically very below in the society, with no respect.

I find some of your points laughable. That Kofi guy is on about the privileges that comes with his new Citizenship. The man is guaranteed with high quality medical care for free, education for himself and his children, he is guaranteed with work and will never go hungry. Can we say that about any phd holder in GH?You are wrong to say his passport is only meant for travel. As a Dutch citizen, he can live and work in any member Country of the European Union and still enjoy the benefits and am talking about 27 Countries. The man will never experience dumsor in his life. Your number two Citizen of Ghana, Dr Bawumiah boldly told Ghanaians he'll choose a GH card that can't even guarantee anyone a job over 1000 interchanges and no one had a problem with that. A phd holder with that outrageous statement. You can have a phd in GH and still sleep on the floor at the hospital. We are interested in status and tittles that bring no value whatsoever. Ghana has over 28000 phd holders. UK has 2% of the population of 67.5. Compare!! I was expecting you to talk about tribalism in GH lol. Going all the way to acquire the highest level of learning and can't even pay for the basic in life in Gh is what Kofigabs is talking about!! I can sense you've never left the shores so you don't know any better. He's not disrespecting education but your system. I met one phd holder recently and the car he drives will never be allowed on any public road in the UK. I mean ...how? Blame your leaders. After 67 years. Unbelievable and kasa nkoaa !!

Do not do a Phd, it is worthless piece of paper based on a hypothesis argued by statistics, data and probability of feasibility. Peer review (access to published database availability except Harvard Business Review) You nee to learn how to be an expert in academic writing. Need to prove new knowledge, new methodology is workable and If you are African - A paper chaser living off the Phd Stipend??? Can you MONETISE your Phd, Articulate your work in English to a wider audience. Why Ghanaians do not do a DBA ( Doctorate in Business Administration)? What about INTERRACIAL SEX by Ghanaians living overseas. Many are lonely and frustrated overseas. Imagine getting a Law Accreditation by the Lady(Antoinette) with US Law - More study of US Law Again (for what, except money) Nah - Ghanaians think about leaving for overseas money and interracial sex. I have checked many Ghanaians Phd and the QUALITY IS VERY POOR. The GOLD Standard is not achieved because of the strict rigor of education and standard of English in Ghana.
