what is this absurd question of protecting the voter? for instance, the traffic light is there to protect the road user. so, by this analogy by the hosts, a person can jump a red light and if arrested claim that the light is for his protection but he doesn't want that protection.

You see, you can liken this law to the law that criminalises attempted suicide..... the law is trying to protect you, it's still your life but you cannot voilate it by taking your own life. It's protecting your right to secret balloting, though it's your choice, you still cannot voilate it. Samson is wrong with this one

Why Samson Lady sometimes ask a silly question as if he is not a lawyer?. What I know as a novice of the law is that a voter must not disclose his or her ballot to the public that is why a provision is made for a voter to vote in an enclosed ballot cabin.

Your life is protected by the constitution, right to life,... but it's also expected of you to uphold that protection by protecting and preserving your own life, violating it by attempting suicide is a major crime. Same will apply here.

Samuel Lardy, please go back to the constitution. Subsection 3 generalises the subjects by saying, "A person shall not..." This includes the voter. Subsection 1 mentions specific officers to whom the provision concerns.

ballot selfie or picture taking is a form core political speech and a ban or prosecution may stifle free speech and expression. You cannot ban an act meant to combat an unsubstantiated and hypothetical danger of vote buying. The state must establish that ballot picture taking is because a vote has been sold or bought.

I feel that what makes it a secret happens only the boot because that is where the truth can be seen and identified. In other words I can tell the whole world that I voted for candidate A or B meanwhile truthfully the candidate I voted for can only be told about with what happened secretly in the boot! I think anything that happens outside or after the boot can't be said to be secret or true because it cannot be verified... My opinion...
