Yeah they're the rappers. Their grandsons produce the beats, and have their own tracks (Nine and Dex). They perform live. They're closer to 80 than 60. Mid-late 70s. And somehow, they keep getting better. Check out Bish Bash Bosh.

I got sucked in to this world about two years ago!! These guys are amazing!!! Yes they are the rappers, yes they write the bars. Their grandsons are the producers (91 Shots & Handsome Dexter aka Nine & Dex) and they are dope AF rappers as well. (see their video Nine & Dex "Pecan Pie") Its a whole crew. The UK is totally different. I was lucky enough to have lived there during the 90's. They are some OG Legit Gangster types havin' fun in retirement. Welcome to the rabbit hole..... ;-)

These are the real deal, they write (although they get newer slang from their grand kids who also create the beats for the most part) they tour, they perform and they rarely miss (cadence, schemes, doubles, bars, proper old G's). Some of the best IMO - Quick 1-2 - Mr Worldwide - Bish Bash Bosh (their newest tune).

As others have said, they perform live. There are videos of their performances on KZbin. Check it out and you'll realize they really are the ones rapping. This was green screen, but adjusted the chroma after. Their video production continues to get much better. This was one of their earlier ones. Check out some of their newer ones like Stepped into the Building, Longthorn Shotgun and their hardest piece, Bish Bash Bosh.

They're in their seventies. "Quick 1-2" next! ps. By now it is quite clear that the writing is a collaborative effort (their grandsons Nine & Dex helping out with the structure and new slang, Pete and Bas throwing in old references and old slang). Doesn't matter to me that they aren't writing the verses 100% by themselves - they still need to perform those bars and the flows are impeccable. That's not easy to do, even when you're in your 20's.

I totally agree even if it's a 50/50 collab between them and their grandsons. Cuz there are some bars that they throw out that are just kind of like old people thinking. But a lot of rappers have Ghost writers and the fact is it's 90% delivery. And they have the delivery on point. You can't fake that.

Back in the day it was a crime to have ghostwriters (even though a lot of old school artists DID have them, it just was kept on the down low) but nowadays I don't think youngin's think twice about who wrote the bars, they love the tracks they love regardless. I'm an old head so I highly prefer rappers to write their own bars but I'm not completely ironclad on that rule, I can make exceptions sometimes when the swagger is just right and boy it is right with these fellas!

the amount of people who actually believe they are there grandsons it’s all a company directed by Baranby baxter addison and Johnathan lewis who own sinduworld pete and bas are not related to nineanddex pete and bas had normal lives bas’s real name is basil preveneurs who was a notary before becoming an actor they lip sync their songs. which you can tell from the early songs nine and rex are the real artists especially listening to the dark haired one who sounds just like bas. For even more proof they did the same experiment using americans called Frank and Maury (look them up on youtube) pete and bas are very sick but they are only actors and don’t do any work towards making the song

Absolutely agree - I've been DEEP in this rabbit hole for weeks now, and ultimately I think Pete and Bas are exactly as "fake" as any other rap artist in the modern age... I'm sure producers are in there, tweaking flows and timing to get them perfectly on the beat, and I'm sure Nine and Dex are writing a good percentage of the lyrics and blocking out the structure of the songs... and I'm also sure that's true of Eminem's latest album, just with different collaborators... There's chunks of Kendrick Lamar tracks that he cannot hit live like he does on the record too... Modern music is always a certain amount of smoke and mirrors, and I don't see how this would be any different. The only question is, does the end result of that process sound good? In this case, I think it sounds fantastic, and creates a really unique vibe with the mash-up of modern grime stylings with classic cockney gangster swagger... So who cares how "real" it is... just enjoy a unique act!

These guys are awesome. You gotta hear their song Gangster Shit. It's crazy good. These guys are in their 70's and touring Europe next month. They are definitely the vocalists and songwriters. They're huge in the UK. There's also The Northern Boys. And Uncle Bal. They're all a part of The Snooker Team. The Northern Boys song Party Time is crazy. You should check that out. Old people in the UK are lit. That whole retirement home must be insane.

Great reaction!! They are in their 70's actually. They've been rapping since 2017 I believe. They have quite a few videos out, and they are all good. They tour live!! They just release their latest video called T-Pain.

These guys are showing the young'ns how it's done. Real gangsters in their day, Bas beat an old murder charge not long ago. He was involved in underground boxing, think the movie snatch. Sometimes people need to be reminded that Rap/Hip-Hop, as a musical form, is now almost 50 years old. The music industry has always been obsessed with marketing everything as "young" Because that's where you get new customers from. Truth is though...your youth, as well as being a great time, is also the shortest part of your life. Still lots of shit to get up to after it's over 🙂
