Hi, I have a doubt. With the quantity he mixed for this video. Did he bake 3 cakes of 250gms (final batter) each. And did he use each cake to finally make a half kg cake?

yes, to make half kg cake you need 250 gm & for 1 kg cake you need 400 gm of final batter. The ration of premix :water :oil should be 10: 4: 1. Adding of sugar syrup. frosting and garnish will give you yield more than half or 1 kg cake you wan't.
