Better late than never still but the main reason why I think us Greeks and Cypriots have beards is because of national service which used to be 26 months when I did it back in 97 BASICALLY WE HAVE TO SHAVE MORE OR LESS EVERY DAY😳⚠️😳⚠️ so when we finally finish our service we never shave again

@Natalina Papoutsi You dont speak for every Greek women. It's sad that you're saying all Greek men are lazy when its a lie. If I sat there and compared what my Dad does or what my Mom does my Dad actually does MORE!!! Greek women do work hard, but it's like they're pulling teeth when they're working hard because they cry and moan non stop. Greek women always gossip are very critical and very bitter and jealous of other women also hairy, they're very hairy and need to shave alot. I can play your game too Natalina. You see how fucked up I sound ? Now I'm off to the gym, Greek women never go to the gym, fattest women in Europe google it.

I also went to two local shops in Rhodes, AND the guy in the car is a local I met via couchsurfing and he gives good insight, he introduced me to the shoe artisan who also gave good insight, did you watch the full video? btw I made this other video in an attempt to encourage people to learn at least a few words when in Greece kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3mnq2isfdGFf5o what do you think? efaristo! :)

I didn't mean that the video wasn't good.. what I meant was that in mykonos ,Rhodes ,Santorini and all the Greek fancy islands the most men you meet are rich and selfish (locals too) . not all but the most . Greece isn't only Athens Mykonos and Santorini . I hope your next trip to visit pelloponiso,Thessaloniki and the Ionian islands in my opinion are better than Agean islands . Greeks historically weren't confined in the borders Greece has today. After Ancient Greece, the Hellenistic kingdoms (before the Roman Empire) and the Eastern Empire (Byzantium) had established the Greek presence in the present Arab countries, middle east, Egypt, Libya, all the way to India etc. What's today Western Turkey, had Greeks living there up until the mid-20th century. So they're quite tied to the music and traditions of the area, having influenced them and been influenced by them.
@foljs58587 жыл бұрын
+ArabMusic23 A millennium before those events you describe, those later-arabic places were earlier part of the Greek hellenistic Kingdoms (Alexander the Great, Ptolemy, etc) and later part of the (multicultural, but based on a Greek cultural core) Eastern Empire (aka Byzantium). At those times, those places, from Syria to Egypt (and "the levant") had strong (or dominant) Greek element. After the fall of Byzantium the Greeks were also for several centuries under the ottoman rule, as part of the Ottoman Empire, which also covered those same places, so the influences continued coming.
@kokoriko9996 жыл бұрын
Very interesting video. Sadly, it's also somewhat accurate :( . There is a culture in Greece where boys are indeed overly attached to their mothers (and the other way around). Luckily that relationship varies , depending on the area and background of each individual in Greece.
