Mylène and Seal did not shoot the clip together, it was done in the studio, Mylène in France and after Boutonnat and went to the US to play the part of Seal, that's also why we do not see the head of the man when they are seen together in the clip. Clip inspired by the painting "Le radeau de la Méduse" by Gericault

The reason I like this song is because the lyrics contrast each-other so well. She sings (translated) “words are our lives” and he sings “you could kill a life with words”. The second verse which she sings is my favourite lyric wise, it’s really good. I suggest the 2006 live version of this song, in my opinion it’s even better. Seal isn’t there but there is someone else who sings his part and I think said person does it better. I don’t want to say who as it’ll ruin the surprise.. though some have no doubt already spoiled it.

It seems that Seal was not present while shooting the video. Actually, the man you see at some parts in the video is not Seal : he is only présent when he sings. By the way, this is a beautiful song that makes me cry because it reminds me particular souvenirs , both painful and joyful

It's Imane Ayissi, top and fashion designer, Seal refusing any travel by plane ,the shooting that took place a few days after the September 11 attacks. Seal's close-ups are shot in L.A.
