The male-female roles are reversed here. The avenging Mylene emerges from the shadows..to fight for retribution and redemption.. but ultimately wars (universally waged by men) turn out to be futile...

Merci Julien. Super choix ! Mylène seems to draw inspiration from a lot of sources, but her works always include her unique paw prints - like a crucifix (or in this case, an entire field of them in shrouds). There is certainly a message to be taken in her assault on them. It's interesting also that the avenging angel and helpless victim in this clip bear strong resemblance to their counterparts in the "California" clip. And OBTW - Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

Excellente analyse. Ce fut en effet encore une nouvelle pierre précieuse apportée à l'édifice Farmer que ce nouveau son. Très proche d'Archive, avec qui elle travaillera plus tard, en 2010 et en 2022. D'ailleurs, je te suggère de "react" à l'une de ces chansons de Mylène composées par Archive : Light me up, Leila, Diabolique mon ange, Ne plus renaître, Do you know who I am ?. Merci. :)

One of my favourite clips. The "scarecrows" by Swiss artist Martial Leiter are now a big part of the set design of the 2023/2024 show, although the song doesn't feature (it did in 2019 as a mashup). I think Mylène looks stunning here!
