Incredible video from the stunning Þrídrangar lighthouse

Helicopter pilot Gísli Gíslason, who flies for Norðurflug, transported six craftsmen out to Þrídrangar lighthouse, Vestmannaeyjar islands, on Wednesday morning. The six men were there to do maintenance work.
The men spent the night in the stunning lighthouse, which was built in 1939 and is located near the Vestmannaeyjar islands, south Iceland. Accessibility is challenging as the lighthouse is situated on top of an extremely steep cliff. Luckily, Gísli and his passengers were blessed with both good weather and visibility during their flight.
“It was an amazing day!” he told the National Broadcasting Service. “We even spotted a family of killer whales swimming near the lighthouse.”

Bruh, there are so many "oh hell no" moments, even before you actually step into the lighthouse. I wouldn't even be able to step onto the tiny rock they comically call a "helipad".

@@Galf506 - You are right. They sailed to the island and scaled the cliffs. Incredibly dangerous. The helipad was built later. They started in 1938. Helicopters came around in 1939.

Built right before the dawn of World War II. Three of Vestman island best mountaineers climbed up the near-vertical cliff face, near the top one guy had to stand on the other's shoulders and pull the rest up as it was too high to reach the cliff edge. they then made a 'trail' down the cliff by drilling pikes and connecting them with a chain. Next, a small crane pulley system was constructed to hoist up material Workers stayed on the island in tents for a month during the construction. They faced slick rocks, rain, and fervent winds knowing that one slip could send them plunging into the frigid North Atlantic Ocean that thrashed and splashed below.

If I were an evil mastermind with massive capital I would build that. But it would have an elevator shaft going down through the rock into the bedrock below the ocean floor where I would have hollowed out a huge base for creating all my doomsday devices. Disappointing video .... I wanted to see the light house .. not a helicopter flying around. Strange you would go to this far away area and screw up just not showing us the dang lighthouse. It looks really interesting (what little is shown) .. you mostly filmed a helicopter pad. Well .. nice adventure, I'm sure ... bring an actual filmmaker next time.

Well I heard can only be reached by boat until they made the chopper pad... back in the day they actually used lanterns you know kerosene ect... there are other ways to produce light
