"Myocarditis is inflammation of the cardiac muscle usually following an infection, trauma or ischaemic event to the heart. It is also associated with rheumatological diseases such as SLE. Myocarditis can be acute or chronic. For most cases in routine clinical practice, a specific aetiology is not found. Viruses remain the most common cause, and often are presumed to be the causative agent in cases without a proven aetiology. The viruses identified include adenovirus, echovirus, CMV, influenzae or coxsackievirus."

Hi, first of all thank you for all your helpful videos. They make studying easier and more fun. Secondly, I have a suggestion for a new topic to discuss: it is called "biased signalling" or "ligand-directed signalling" or ... (many different names exist). It is a relatively new concept about the way GPCR work. I have not seen any videos discussing this subject on KZbin yet, you could be the first. It really is a a subject that broadens our view on cellular transduction with many new insights aiding our understanding of how cells work and communicate.

I think Glutamate storm is clinically significant in the pathophysiology of myocarditis. It seems to work in tandem with cytokine storm and most have arterial deposits of calcium due to lack of calcium channel signalling nutrients such as K2, D, magnesium and boron. Calcium becomes cytotoxic when glutamate storm happens

I had myocarditis after asymptomatic Influenza at age 6. My mom woke me up for school, but I couldn't get up. I had *intense* pain in my legs. So much so that I had to be carried to the doctor. After a series of tests, they established that it was myocarditis due to a "neglected flu". I wasn't sick from flu at all. Because they took so long to diagnose the condition, I developed a permanently damaged myocardium and had a "leaking valve" for years. Thankfully, the valve healed. My pulse is permanently elevated due to the damage, so I take medication to keep it in check. Sometimes the medication won't start working as well as it always does and I get palpitations and angina (a really uncomfortable feeling in my chest and my arms start to ache very badly). The angina usually gets worse when it's really hot in the summer or after taking a warm shower. I'm lucky to live and it's not an impediment to me, but I really wish the docs had diagnosed it earlier to prevent some damage. This happened back in 1997 and I'm 30 now.

Treatment for myocarditis may include: corticosteroid therapy (to help reduce inflammation) cardiac medications, such as a beta-blocker, ACE inhibitor, or ARB. behavioral changes, such as rest, fluid restriction, and a low-salt diet. diuretic therapy to treat fluid overload. antibiotic therapy.

@@danielle8959 Yeah, I heard the second dose of the vaccines could cause it as well. One of the reasons I have been apprehensive to get them myself. I get called "anti-vaxxer" for it, but I am not denying that the vaccines can be helpful. Just afraid of the potential repercussions. Hopefully I have a lasting immunity to this crap. I have my maintenance medication Bisoprolol and Colchicine. I have an unstable blood pressure and always having episodes of dizziness and chest pain and shortness of breath that gets worst if the weather is hot. Please include me on your prayers 🙏.
