In particular with civil trials are the endless delays big money gets away with. I'm Australian and I remember a terrible mine accident about 25 years ago, where a whole squad was killed in an underground coal mine explosion. At the time the families held little how of anything because the courts case for a similar accident 10+ years earlier was still yet to go to trial because of delays. Yes, in the past the only way to do it was by an absentee ballot by snail mail. Many states have authorized overseas military and citizens to email their ballot which is then hand counted. Of course they must request one first with the proper form. www.fvap.gov/

The actual overseas voter must scan their completed ballot that was sent to them along with additional forms which includes their signature, their overseas address and contact information and their address when they used to live in town. It's a federal form so the whole country uses the same process if they allow the voter to email the ballot. Otherwise so many of them arrived too late to count. It cannot be used for tourists vacationing abroad but only somebody who is working or studying abroad, and of course the military.

I work in a town clerk's office and you are absolutely right. The overseas ballots that are emailed cannot go through the machines and must be hand counted and tallied. The town I work in does not have many military but a lot of overseas students and US residents. The ballots are broken up by candidates and we have three people count to verify the total. Then the ballots are broken up by the next category shown, and so on. It's a slow process but very carefully done.

I want Mike to know that I'm with him in his war against all machines! I have had to go full Gitmo on my Sonic toothbrush for the past 16 days. I water boarded it off and on for 1 to 2 minutes at the beginning and ending of each day. I had it in solitary confinement after I took the Close Up out of the medicine chest so it had no one to visit with. I even possibly broke some international laws by leaving Lindell's podcast running (as long as it didn't freeze up) on a spare tablet in the bathroom for it to hear. I really don't understand the hostility to mail in ballots. I live in a State that has mail in voting exclusively. It is so exacting that when I failed to sign the outer envelope for ballot security, I was contacted immediately to rectify my mistake, or my ballot would not be legal. I can sit at my desk, read up on every candidate, and every issue on the ballot, make my informed decisions, and vote from the comfort of my home. We have very little fraud, and very rare challenges to the count totals, we all know it is accurate, regardless of party affiliation.

People were hesitant to go to the polling places and there weren’t as many places as they had been previously, so he expected other people to vote by mail. Then, he planned to call for a stopping of the count when the polls closed and then claimed that the absentee ballots which had not been counted yet didn’t count. He complained that he was winning when he went to bed, which wasn’t true, and then called for the counting to stop and tried to get the absentee ballots thrown out as much as possible. I know it was a lie because, as a registered Republican in New Mexico, not only was the RNC urging me to vote by mail, so was the Trump campaign. Trump set the stage for this scam in advance, claiming that there was a massive voter fraud and mail in ballots, which is not true, claiming that the count should stop at the end of election day, which is not true, and claiming he won, which was also not true. Ironically, one of the major reasons Donald Trump lost was his terrible treatment of Republicans, which caused an awful lot of Republicans to not vote for Donald Trump.
