Here's the deal about making compost. Don't overthink it, don't obsess about it. As long as you get a general mix of green/brown it doesn't matter. You don't have to be exact.

Best to mix the top soil with the compost as it will bulk it out. Top Soil doesn’t have anywhere near as much goodness as compost but is fine if mixed with it.

If you're looking at starting up your compost heap try planting a bed of Comfry but use the Bocking14 strain as this won't seed as it can become very aggressive and take over, the leaves make fantastic fertilizer also are great compost accelerators ir you can just throw the leaves on the ground as a mulch as they break down quick. Plus Bonnie and Clyde for the scarecrows

Hi Emma. Best not to push your onion sets straight into the ground, you may damage the basal plate (where the roots come from). Make a hole first. Also you can plant them deeper, so just below the surface (hiding them from the birds) and trust me they will grow and sit on the surface like you would expect. I have found that planting Onions in the Autumn are more prone to run to seed than planting in the spring. So I only plant in the spring. Yes it is nice to get stuff in the ground this time of year but I just do garlic over winter because they need the cold to split properly.🦊

Greetings from Australia 😊 love your video's. With regards to your camera id stick with a Cannon if thats what you are used to filming with, also if the current camera worked well for what you use it for I'd get the same camera. If its an older model yoy may be able to get het a good deal on it as well.

Hi Emma, where did you buy your onion and garlic from? You inspire me to get up to my allotment even in bad weather, thank you 😊
@georgemartin96183 ай бұрын
The onions are Senshyu semi globe yellow, a really delicious Japanese variety which will be ready early June. What were you using to film seeing as your camera is broken ? Whatever it was the picture is excellent . Google error 60 on the Canon website and fix the problem yourself. PS you put the second onion in upside down after lecturing us on how to do it correctly 😊. Thanks again for all the laughs and entertainment Emma, now go and get some of that stable manure before its all gone .
