There are a LOT of materials involving Oni in Japanese mythology but 3 particularly caught my interest : 1.) Oni are the ones who punish Evil people in Buddha version of Hell or Jigoku; 2.) Oni has different skin or type Red, Blue and green (2 of which was kinda discussed in Genshin particularly Ito's character quest; and 3.) Female Oni are well verse in magic and curses. A young female oni is called Kijo while an old one is Onibaba

Man, I was so dead set on the idea of her being an emanator of Finality, but all the things they've put out recently all but outright say she's a self annihilator. Either way, this is all fascinating as hell, I really feel like I should watch a story compilation of HI3 so I can understand more of what was referenced throughout this.

this is literally the basis of honkai impact 3. each of the 12 swords represent the 12 original herrshers plus the herrshers of origin and finality (end). this is extremely lore deep and directly ties the worlds of honkai impact 3 and star rail

The naming of the blades is interesting, too. The 12 swords are called Sentinels, because they were meant to protect Izumo The 2 swords are called Bearers, as in the bearers of burden or fate. And the line refers to only one blade being able to save Izumo. Which points to it shifting from an external conflicting of warding of invaders to an internal conflict about the road to the future. Should they accept their new forms and become Oni or fight for their humanity to the bitter end. And the final sword get the word Life as superscript. Because in the end non of it mattered, all life was going to be victims in the end. No matter if they are Kami, Oni or Human. There was never going to be a victor in this fight. Which was the lie Acheron referred to. That this was a battle that could be won if you fought hard enough, if you sacrificed enough, if you never gave up. In the end, even though she knows it. She still refuses to give into Nihility and refuses to give up, even though there is naught she can do. And thus begins her long journey as a self annihilator fighting back against IX as described in the Hoyolab post about Emenators. No wonder Black Swan decided to ghost her, that's a bit heavy for a first date. But then, she asked. 🤭 I really enjoyed your reactions to it, looking forward to the next one!

No matter if they are Kami, Oni or Human. - Kami are monsters who turn humans into oni, and oni are these brainless shadows acheron was fighting under the End. And she is certainly not Self-Annihilator, because Emanator can't be Self-Annihilator.

@@MegaApostel but self-anihilators are ones who will die to IX, and emanators are ones who survived it. And she used power of nihility to literally erase both planets from existance. I doubt that anybody besides an emanator could do that.

@@0kaiKaiI see where the misunderstanding is coming from now. Emenators of Nihility are self annihilators. It's just that because of their strong resistance they are stretching the time until they are gone into infinity. That's what makes them emenators. If they would just survive they wouldn't be on the path of Nihility any more and couldn't be the emenators of IX.

I've never played GGZ, nor HI3. With all the previous lore implications, and people on the verge of hyperventilating about GGZ and HI3 lore... this must be what my friends must feel like when they ask me about Marvel comics lore. All I can think of is... this is pretty art, and fiiiine VA work. Acheron is going to confuse me, scare me, and empty my meagre stash of gems.

Unlike in _GGZ_ 's and _HI3_ 's earths, Izumo's warriors actually beat their Herrschers with their versions of the Divine Keys. MEI only ended up losing to IX. Well okay, Izumo beat the Kami, but failed in their embrace with their Cocoon. Not that it mattered in the end because IX ate everything except for MEI and _Life_ , turning them into Acheron and _Naught_ instead. The lines she says at the end, "and yet" seems to indicate Acheron is still seeking _Life_ and _Finality_ .

It was told in the video, they descended upon this second planet. Also it was told that second planet was as beautiful as Izumo. And this black ball is supposed to be a black sun.

@@gmoney9469 The implication that a lot of people have taken from this is, that the monsters that attacked are essentially honkai beast and Herrschers from Honkai Impact. They're just presented in a different way due to being from another world. They believe that so much, by the way, because the 12 sentinels pretty much perfectly match the divine keys. And subsequently, the Herrschers. The things is, though, that Honkai itself is an outer-versal entity. It literally just manifests more and more into a world, as society progresses. Meaning, they didn't actually come from anywhere in the world. They manifested as the influence of Honkai grew.

@@gmoney9469 as another person said, everything what happened in that trailer is what literally what "honkai" is. Whole plot of GGZ and HI3rd is invasion of honkai on Earth. Honkai is that mysterious force that tries to exterminate humanity and reset planet. It acchieves it's goals by sending monsters, creating diseases and natural disaster. In the end it sends it's herrschers (12 names in that traile), who are like doomsday harbingers with different godlike powers, who can't exist in real world, so they posess human bodies to attack other humans. They also create crystalls (herrscher cores) in their vessel bodies, and that crystalls can be used to create powerful artifact weapons (these 12 sentinel swords from trailer). In the end of HI3rd we learnt that honkai is like Imaginary Tree's cleaning mechanism that exists to remove "expired" planets from the Tree and drop them dead into Sea of Quanta (basically nothingness).

@@nemasisdemarini8339 Like I said. I read the description. I know the Herrscher connection. Obviously. But that is a reference not a one to one. I’m asking why is that planet so special that it is happening there, and to our knowledge, nowhere else. Aside from a few things like the doomsday beast and the giant sting (which both have connections with Eons), these kaiju just seem like crazy outliers. Then again, a single planet of humans were able to stand up against them, so maybe I’m making them a bigger deal than they actually were. 🤷‍♂️
