the reason for the observation isnt related to their p/t but because when they die they cause their controller to gain life. Some things like invigorate cause an opponent's life to change as a cost to cast the spell. With Emperion out, you wouldn't be able to cast the spell for that cost.

Both Jaheira and Myrkul look like very fun commanders. Jaheira ramped crazy good, while Myrkul generated a ton of value with doublers. I didn't see either played before, but they are definitely on my radar now.

So for people wondering about the pest/Emperion observation, the pests still die. The lifegain isn't a cost required for the pests to die, so their death still happens, the lifegain just doesn't. Its like if a lifelink creature does damage with an emperion on the same side of the board. Damage still goes through but the lifegain doesn't. This is in contrast to the alternate cost of invigorate not being able to be paid, and the card not being able to be cast for that alternate cost.

12:00 you should think about spells with mulitple payoffs and targets, like magma opus, fight with fire and sublime epiphany. Get some non leagendary creatures that have etb's and you're good imo

From 10:15, the black market goes up and your lifetotals are going down rapidly. At Andrew's upkeep -> Jalbert life total = 28, Andrew's life total = 37, black market 3 counters. At Jalbert's upkeep -> Jalbert life total = 26, Andrew's life total = 35, black market 5 counters. At Dom's upkeep -> Jalbert life total = 21, Andrew's life total = 33, black market 7 counters. At Andrew's upkeep -> Jalbert life total = 16, Andrew's life total 28, black market 12 counters. From sacrificing the 4 manifests -> Jalbert life total = 12, Andrew's life total 0, exiling the 4 cards. During Jabert's turn he would have lost a total of 36 at least.

I got my Myrkul deck (still early stage) in my binder. The hardest thing to do was to cut it down to 100 cards.

6:00 Mat played a land from his card exiled with apex of power but you can only cast spells from amongst those cards. It doesn’t seem to affect anything I don’t think but should know how that interaction works in the future if he keeps the deck

He could have cast it two times, creating four Blood Avatar Token, having each enemy sac 4 creatures, swing and take out Dom - or am I wrong

Pretty sure he had enough mana and tokens to cast it 3 times to get 6 avatars. That's 18 damage on attack before any combat damage. Was a bit silly not to just play it out real quick, would take 30 seconds in real time and see what happens. @mtgmuddstah we'd rather see it played out to see how close it was!

You ***CANNOT*** allow enchantress players to get big. There are ***NOT ENOUGH RESPONSES*** to stacking the board full of enchantments. For some reason, only ***WHITE AND GREEN*** can deal with this and everyone else has to suffer unless you can tutor out an All is Dust. There are not enough colors that can consistently remove enchantments, therefore every Enchantress player is automatically arch nemesis unless they're playing enchantment creatures.

Very interesting game! However I have a feeling the final interaction of Dom getting manifested cards back as enchantments doesnt work. They died as 2/2s manifests and death triggers care about what it was on the battlefield to actually trigger. I'd love some explaination if this does or doesnt work as this is a horrible interaction if it does work!

Myrkul's death triggers only care if it was a nontoken creature when it died. When you exile it, Myrkul will use the card's actual information to create the token, as long as it's a permanent card.

I finally built my first Jeskai deck yesterday: Optimus Prime, Hero. 💙❤🤍 Now, to tune it... I'm getting Reconfigure and Living Weapon equipment to emulate Transformers combinations. 😁
