Mudfossils are the remains of giant creatures and formed the anomalies we see as "Geology". Read Ovid Metamorphases... "Metamorphosis or transformation is a unifying theme amongst the episodes of the Metamorphoses. Ovid raises its significance explicitly in the opening lines of the poem: In nova fert animus mutatas dicere formas / corpora; ("I intend to speak of forms changed into new entities;").[24] Accompanying this theme is often violence, inflicted upon a victim whose transformation becomes part of the natural landscape"

Don't know how I landed here, but I was so intrigued I couldn't stop watching it and can't wait to view the rest of this channel. I love to understand why things are the way they are, what happened, how things were in the deep past right under your very feet. Ancient history is amazing, human genetic migration fascinating, but going even further into Deep Geologic History is just like... WOW... you can hardly believe the way things were! Whenever I travel and see the geologic formations of mountains, layers of strata, flat plains with far out-of-place giant bolders, the bad lands, etc. I am always lost in wonder marveling about what it is, how it came to be, what was it like back then,... but alas I pass by with little knowledge or idea what was before me. It is an EXTRAORDINARY REVELATION to have experts like Myron unravel the mystery of our planet's deep history and "read" the formations and layers of strata like the pages of some sacred book to reveal the dynamic amazing events of the deep past... EXTRAORDINARY!!! THANK-YOU Myron for your videos and fascinating adventures and revelations. Love it! ...and such a wonderful pleasant personality and teacher who loves what he does! 21:21 The lahar deposits with massive volcano chunks embedded inside would have come from a long runout landslide. It's astonishing to see an entire mountainside move 20 to 30 miles away. The embedded blocks could have come from a slope failure high up on the Sunrise volcano's flank, giving the debris flow enough momentum to get that far.

I’m a 58 year-old mechanic in South Louisiana. I came across your video of the gulf coast, which I really enjoyed. I’ve really been interested in this after finding out that LSU did a study or a meteorite impact a few miles north of my house I continued watching your videos because you take me places that I will probably never go and explain the geology of it all. Your mild man And the way you explained things is on my level, I’m not the smartest and I’m not the dumbest, you keep things interesting. There’s a great article on the meteor strike that was done by LSU geology department maybe this is something you want to look at for future video. Thanks so much for your videos. Boz

Wow I am 58 and if I could have watched this back in school, I could have looked at things with so much more appreciation as I traveled everywhere. Sir you are a treasure, and I fully appreciate you for teaching us this stuff more than you know. Thank you from all my heart from NH USA.

Really informative and entertaining video. My dad, Kermit Gustafson (who passed away back in 2001) was a professor of Geology and would take student on field trips to Yellowstone, the grand canyon and many other locations around the western US. He passed before I was able to really find my own interest in geology so I long felt I missed out on a lot of information I could have learned from him. Your video was a real pleasure to watch. I’d like to think my dad would be happy I found such value in your teaching. Thanks a bunch!

I love your videos. I earned my geology degree at Eastern Kentucky University. Can never get enough. My wife and I were driving from Phoenix last year. She saw all these strange hills. We were in the San Francisco Volcanic Field. On our round about return we ran into Ship Rock. Another ancient volcano with dikes all around.
