I tried to do the Muslim prayer for the first time

Trying to pray using the Interactive Adult Prayer Mat for the first time! Masha'Allah.

Hi, I thought I should mention that, although Salah type of prayer is structured, Dua type of prayer is not structured. and when people mostly use the english word prayer, they refer to the Dua in islam. Salah also has an element of meditation added. Just a quick clarification.

For research purposes, come along to the local masjid at any of the Salat times and check out how its done. You can stand in line with the brothers and copy. Keep eyes open as you can see the brothers next to you to know when to get up. Be sure to ask for advice/pointers. Maghrib (Sunset) and Isha (starts 1h30m after Maghrib) are good times to come as people are off work/school and around for longer between the two.

What a tremendous effort you put into it! I never saw or heard of that prayer matt. Very interesting and educational. Don't lose heart, keep it going until you become a pro. I believe that the difficulty lies in the language barrier. Once you learn the basics, it'll become just routine. Actually, in your Salat you can use just the shortest Surats and repeat them in every Salat. Memorizing them can be easily achieved through listening and repetition (on KZbin). Just ask and Muslims will be happy to help. May God guide you towards the straight path.
