Yes, Virginia is a beautiful state; I've camped in Virginia many times; originally I'm from Annapolis, Maryland, so I know Virginia pretty well too. My late husband's grandparents & uncles lived in Virginia too. That is a beautiful state park too...I hope you & little Man enjoy your stay & stay safe & well too. Blessings, my friend♥

No I did not it's inside the fender just needs to be put back in place. Yes I have I have a very good Mechanic that does all my stuff on my vehicles for the last 40 years.......

When I read Powhatan, I thought you may be staying at the same park that we stayed in a few weeks ago but then I realized this park is in VA. We stayed in Lake Powhatan Recreation Area in Asheville, NC. It's dry camping but only $15/night w/NPS pass. That was the quietest park we have ever stayed in. This is a very nice park, with elec./water. I had never heard of it but will certainly put it on my list. Safe travels!!

You've given me the desire to go camping in central Virginia this fall to groove on the fall colors. We've enjoyed Bear Creek Lake, but I think we will expand to Powhatan and James River State Park this year. We are from Northern VA. The beauty of rural Virginia makes it all worthwhile. John, you did a great job showcasing this park. VA is exceptionally beautiful. I lived in Richmond for about a year, in The Fan Historic District downtown, and worked at Stanley Construction Co. in Ashland, VA. I spent as much time as I could down on the James River. Looking forward to getting back up there before too long. Happy Camping!

@@angelusway ​ I am a native Californian, retired two years ago and moved out after 62 years. For the last few years that I lived there, I had to be armed 24/7 or be robbed. The state is falling apart and no longer a nice or safe place to live and you don't see the same problems in many other states. Just ask LAPD and LA County Sheriffs why they retire and leave the state.
