Before the Mysore palace of the Maharaja was constructed, there was a Tipu's Palace here made in wood. The Saint interred here must have been the Architect of that palace. The front facade of the present palace is the same type which was on Tipu's Palace before it was burnt down by the British. The front facade looks again like the Summer palace of Tipu at Blore.

Tipu never ever had any palace in Mysore. His mansion was in Srirangapatna which was demolished after he was defeated and put down for good at the end of 4th Anglo-Mysore war. That is the end of Tipu who had stolen the Mysore Kingdom from the Maharajah of Mysore.
