Speaking in tongues is important. We NEED to be edified so that we CAN help others. Prophesy being more desirable than tongues does not cancel out the importance of tongues. All of these gifts are from God and have importance. It seems that tongues are being belittled here. This teaching has been used to discourage receiving the gift of tongues. We need step one to go forward to receiving the following steps. Balanced teaching does not belittle one portion of the equation.

Chuck had great insights on the Scripture... But I don't see the concept of the Trinity... "Hear oh Israel the Lord our God is One Lord"

he is wrong that tongues is a private prayer language, and gibberish is not tongues, God does not understand gibberish
