hi i'm having a reaaly specific problem where i can't connect java to a remote database (on raspberry pi B+) The console says the following error: "com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLNonTransientConnectionException: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MariaDB client null" No sure what it means or if it has anything to do with this. I was still wondering if you could help

xampp is just a software that help as to easily start and stop mysql. If you have installed mysql database that's fine just make sure database running on any port. If its running you can connect in the same way as I have shown in this video
