MySQL- Error : 1175 , Safe mode

Sharing MySQL Basics.
While working query update and set, came across the error : 1175 -
Update cats set age=14 where name="misty" Error Code: 1175. You are using safe update mode and you tried to update a table without a WHERE that uses a KEY column. To disable safe mode, toggle the option in Preferences .
Accessed Preferences, but i did not find anything or may be did not understand anything.
after seacrhing found and checked this - SET SQL_SAFE_UPDATES = 0;
and this worked.
