I remember reading this story before. I believe it’s in a book called “The Hawaiian Tales of legends, myths, and menehune” or something like that. I think the author was Mary Pukui ??? E kala mai, I know I’m butchering her name and probably misspelling it too. Im sure that Mary is her first name, but I forget the middle and last parts of her name. I read that book back in ‘91 😮
