the bedroom upstairs with the painting of a bookshelf and other things looks very real, doesn't it ?? the French name for it is Trompe L'oeil which in the French language literally means "trick of the eye". this type of painting goes all the way back to ancient Greece and Pompeii. it was said it drew the person who was looking at it into the picture !!! lookup the word and you will see much more intricate paintings done by talented artists, very cool !!!

This house was made in the early 60's. My mom's kitchen is made like this one with the same desk area in the kitchen and intercom system.

Hi BB. That “door” on the stairs is a child safety gate(or even for dog). I wonder if that was a hospital bed or just an old style adjustable bed?! Beautiful huge home. Not my color scheme, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t live there. At least they took the majority of their stuff. Love the sun room, office & pool

This was my childhood friends house 24 pike street alpine NJ it was recently sold for 1 million to be knocked down and a 8,000 square foot home is going to be built there

Loved this place!!! Big, beautiful & sad😔 The antiques were lovely, if they can’t be sold, give them to a museum!!! I hope that they salvage much more of this house! I loved the flooring! Marble, I assume, countertops & flooring were gorgeous! Wallpaper isn’t my thing, but it was very tasteful! I hope that they are able to save the French doors!!! Very sad that this place will be torn down, as it could be bought & updated! The property was lovely! At least they are going to put another large property on it! Thank you for sharing this wonderful adventure with us Bankz! I loved it ❤️

This is not a mansion this is just a house...beautiful foyer..but not a mansion. Lovely chandelier in foyer as well. Sorry it us being demolished and hopefully someone will take what's left out of the house. Great wicker carriage.

Almost the same wallpaper in the bathroom that was in my parents house when they bought it lol. There was a velvety feel to it. I couldn’t date it really, possibly the 60’s? As they bought it in ‘72 and the previous owners had it for years before my parents bought it.

If this house was remodeled inside keeping some of the original things . The chandelier, library shelves crown molding redone. The floors are beautiful. Someone took care of the house. I would have taken the antiques. Those statues. But the baby carriage is worth a lot bc I wanted to buy one and they go for over $1k. And the chandelier lol. Get the dolls for me please!!!! There’s a way to reset those kinds of safes . Or you can break the pad. I hate to see that house get torn down

That bedroom with the big bed and the wallpapers remind me so much of 80s horror movies like halloween,fright night or nightmare on Elm street. Or any Steven spielberg childrens room. Imagine this room with baseball Posters and stuffed with toys and childrens stuff.

Interesting glimpse of the past. Kinda eerie seeing fragments of a life left behind. There is a lot of craftsmanship in that house. Sad to know that it will probably be demolished. May I suggest to you as an urban explorer that it might be helpful to carry at least a 1xAAA battery flashlight? You can get about 100 lumens of light in something the size of a tube of lip balm. Anyway, enjoyed the video, be careful out there.

The dolls and the baby carriage more than likely belonged to a child as I also noticed a child's wooden potty chair and that would be why the gate thing was at the top of the stairs to keep children from falling down the stairs. That's what those are used for. Which would be why there is one in this house/mansion.

That's not a hospital bed it is an adjustable bed king size for him and her they can make it higher or lower on each side.They are very expensive.

They had pretty good taste for the late 80s- early 90's, which is what I'd date it. I actually had that same intercom system installed in my house when we bought it, those speakers still remain in 2 rooms that I just haven't parted with yet. and one in my son's bedroom (he thinks its retro cool!) ha!

we were talking about the intercom system last night. My kids said some of their funniest memories was me blasting the radio in their room to get them up for school when they were younger! lol I'd pick obnoxious radio stations and the music would jam through the house! lol..the main unit had radio..that one is long gone, though..over the years of paint and patches.

Hi! I would bet the people that are demolishing the house, first taking out all the furniture, what nots, pictures, etc… to sell, auction off, then taking out the tubs, sinks, wall fixtures etc … for same reasons. So it was not being renovated, but being prepared to demolish. That is the way it is done often. 🙂
