This is one of the most important locations I want to visit. I don't think the significance of these ancient "doorways" are discussed nearly enough...I want to catalogue all of the megalithic sites into 5 categories. Ancient doorways, megalithic walls, pyramids, underground labyrinths, and astronomical temples. These doorways in particular really catch my attention though. They must be some sort of gateway or teleportation device. Perhaps this is how the gods "left" after the Younger Dryas cataclysms.

Do you think that maybe, rather than this being a 'portal', that perhaps at one time when the waters of the lake reached up that far, that perhaps it was a place where some form of machine or vehicle docked and locked into the rock formation... Just a thought.

Very interesting though. If you look at why we might have enigmatic shapes in stone. Is expressly for the purpose of holding metal. In the future, peoples could possibly wonder why we carved perfectly circular holes many feet into stone. The reality is that we poured the stone into that shape, and it houses a missile capable of destroying a small island. Now tell me - how would you possibly glean any of that or even hope to imagine any of it when you're only presented with a hole into the ground. Especially if thousands of years gone by has rusted any metal to pieces smaller than sand.

I'd say it's like carvings of a one meter in length to a mountain to identify what a meter is. So this might be a master 1:1 blueprint carved to rock instead of paper and used as a reference for other constructions. You can see this false doorways all over the world and my guess it's either a blueprint to size stuff or an educational example.

Wonder if it’s a doorway to a subterranean area, when you enter the doorway you travel down diagonally along the seam of stone to appear in a similar doorway hundreds of feet underground and distant. Most definitely not, but a cool thought.

This type of rock outcropping is often associated with springs. The rust is from iron pyrite oxidation, which produces a powerful acid used to soften/melt silicates. Makes cutting and carving much easier. Leaves a bit of rust behind.

Mheri Dur (Mher's door) is a very similar carved door/portal and it is in the Armenian Highlands of Eastern Turkey near the Lake of Van. The legend associated with Mheri Dur is associated with the Pre-Christian Pagan Era God (Mihr) a God of The Sun & Light of Heaven. There is a fascinating link between this Portal in Peru and Mheri Dur. Mheri Dur is said to have been existent since before the Kingdom of Urartu, which was an ancient Kingdom within the area of the Armenian Highlands. Interestingly enough, Urartu's first recorded king is named Aramu. Now this Incan legend in Peru speaks of a Shaman named Aramu who escaped through the door in Aramu Muru. These are very interesting parallels I think. Another detail of interest is that the mountain range this Peruvian Portal is located is named Hayu Marca. "Hayu" is very similar to the name Armenian people (indigenous to Armenian Highlands and Caucasus) call themselves "Hay. Somewhere I feel a connection in my bones. This world is fascinating

"sight" is what you see by using your eyes, unless using the term to make an exclamation such as "That place is quite a 'sight' to see!" A 'site' (correct spelling for the topic's context) is an area being used, or shown for a purpose (example: there is a construction 'site' nearby).

On top of the door, looks like a statue. But different ways to look at it- on the left side looking at it from the video, looks like a penis. on the right side looking at it, looks like a female figure laying down. Could this be where the masculine and female traits are coming from with the dousers? It actually reminds me of the statues from easter Island, Moai. Also noticed a bunch of steps all over that area Brian was in where he was using the quadcopter. Going all the way to the top, and at 0:56 if you look right above the play button in the youtube player minimized, it looks like half the mountain is carved out into a ruin of some sort. That whole area is probably got hidden ruins all in it and around it.

I tnhink the door must be examined globally, with all the outcrop, behind and in front. Very common in Andes this contrast betwenn a raw, sometimes seen as quarry, place and a fine sculpted : typically sacsayhuaman, Machu Pichu, even Quenco.

would be interesting if Brien would do a video comparing all these Doors to nowhere. There are obviously some that are in rock outcroppings, but some are doors built using stacked stones, they do look quite similar. maybe their purpose was religious (like regarding holy regard for "living" rock ie rock outcroppings, some have said the pyramids are built on a rock outcropping and the point was religious.) maybe their purpose was scientific, but i don't see that. I think there was some religious story that compelled them to do this.. anyway, a comparison of all the "doorways" into rock outcroppings would be interesting. (some in India actually built into the outcropping and made rooms etc.)..
