When is the best time to visit Santiago chile to experience the snow ?

This is very hard to answer. Snowing at Santiago is not very common. However at the high neighborhood near Los Andes (Lo Barnechea, Las Condes) you may see snow twice a year at winter time between July and August.

Amazing! But why is there palm trees over there because it’s always cold over there it’s closer to Antarctica!!!!!! How can palm trees survive there if it’s really cold???????? There should be forest trees because over isn’t like Canada and Alaska because all three are really cold and the same climate and weather???????? And also I thought palm trees can only grow and survive in warmer places like the beaches in the jungle and in islands

Santiago is the capital of Chile. This city has Mediterranean weather like Los Angels, California. It is not common to snow here, that why I film it this season. I hope this clears your mind. The city near Antarctica is Punta Arenas and is a 4-hour airplane trip.

Santiago has a continentalized mediterranean climate, that is, colder winters and colder summers than Los Angeles, California, which has reached 48.3° in 2006, something impossible for it to happen in Santiago. They are not exactly the same weather. Also, snowfalls in the eastern sector of Santiago are quite common. In Los Angeles it happens once every almost 100 years.

@@Musica-xo3uv Eastern sector of Santiago is the rich $$$ sector, richest neighborhoods, which it's practically other country in the city, thins are so different there than the rest of the city, so they are close to the mountains and yes snow it's common but only in that area. The rest of the city it's just rain, or even not that, the rest feel the air dense and dry. But this snowfall happened in the whole city, like the snow that usually covers Seoul in Korea every winter, so it's really rare and happened once about 55 years ago. Unfortunately not everyone it's rich and not everyone can live in that sector to experience common snowfall.

In 2014 snow fell in the Providencia sector, a fairly central district. In 2017 the snow covered practically the entire city. 2018 sleet fell in the center of Santiago. Lately the snowfalls in almost the entire city occur approximately every 4 years, but in the eastern sector it is almost every year. You are quite ignorant and have no idea of ​​weather statistics.
