​@@gabrielhughes8221spoilers; The reason the gods are fighting against one another was because during the meeting after Brunhilde provoked the gods, Zeus announced the gods competing in Ragnarok but some of the gods like Ra (Egypt), Morrigon (Celtic) were furious that their name weren't listed. Sun Wukong (China) however noticed that in the list of gods competing, there were only 12 names but there are 13 rounds, therefore, this tournament is held to see which god will join the rest to compete in Ragnarok...

I like that Apollo is a Sun god, but his focus is the "light" aspect of the sun. Whereas Ra focuses on the "burning/heat" aspect of the sun

8:45 Ahura Mazda is perhaps one of the most powerful and influential Gods in history. He is considered the first known monotheistic God predating the likes of Yahweh, El, Allah, etc. In Zoroastrianism he was the Twin of his evil brother Angra Mainyu. if Ahura Mazda is anything less than a Supreme God I am going to be disappointed but his design looks killer.

I understand in RoR they have to nerf a ton of Gods and Wank a bunch of human characters to make the fights interesting and fair. Shiva in particular is supposed to be the Ultimate Destroyer of Existence and while he is high tier in the verse it kinda recontextualizes him as a party animal like Dionysus. Which apparently or accidentally is kinda fitting because they have parallels too.

From what it looks like Ra is going into the fight with his fist. Cu is bringing a weapon that in myth will not miss its attack when striking at the heart, also any cut from it cannot be healed. So in that fight Ra is giving himself a handy cap

I would’ve thought that whoever won this tournament would be the 14th fighter, I personally don’t think that it makes sense to leave the 13th spot open and whoever wins the tournament faces Zeus and then loses and then Zeus fills it since we’ve already had the matchups filled out at the start. To me it just makes more sense for this tournament to decide the 14th fighter for the gods.

I 110% see Prometheus siding with humanity. In Greek mythology he is the one who created humanity in the first place, sculpting the original humans out of clay. His most popular myth goes that after Prometheus tricked the gods into permanently taking lesser sacrifices from humanity, they punished them by taking away fire from man. Prometheus, feeling responsible for this punishment, goes up to mount olympus and steals fire back from the olympians and gives it back to humanity. After the olympians heatd if this they were enraged. They chained Prometheus up to a boulder where he would have his liver eaten by an eagle every single day, only for it to regenerate just to be eaten once again. His torment only ever ended when Heracles freed him at the beehest of the gods as a part of his 10 labors. Prometheus is also known as the God of Foresight/planning, whereas his brother epimetheus is known as the god of hindsight, and was also the one that married Pandora, leading to evil/corruption be spread around man kind.

Promethus stole fire from Olympus in the cover of night when the gods of Olympus slept. Not becasue he could command fire, no, he stole fire as it was contained in a cylinder. The Rebel Titan was also brilliant playing a part in the physical design of humans in Greek mythology. He should've been a brilliant Tectition or have command over darkness in opinion in this world. I hope Cu at least makes it to the finals, I think he has a lot of potential as a Demi-God that could prove narratively similar to Buddha and Heracles. I think overall either Surtr or Belial will win the tournament with Cu being their final opponent. One other thing I’ve seen nobody mention is that Cu can transform via his warp spasm. And with how grotesque various Celtic stories make it out to be, it could be one of the most disturbing and stomach churning scenes in the series. To everyone counting out Cu just for the sake of him seeming like a generic protag, give him a shot, I doubt Ireland’s child of light will disappoint.

@@KingRycon I’m well aware of their multiple mythological feats and interpretations, but SNV is a manga that takes a lot of creative liberties when it comes to religion and mythological figures. Just look at Heracles, he’s nowhere near as powerful as his mythological version, but that doesn’t limit round 4’s fight from arguably being the best in the series. In a myth accurate scenario, cu would be ranked near the bottom, but with this manga we just don’t know.
