I’ve run brush cutters before and this looks like a good one. One suggestion though. If you overlap each pass by a quarter, you’ll get a better mulch and reduce the load on the blade. This will help when you’re cutting the big stuff.

I agree and to raise the front just a little bit higher than the rear gives it a double cut and minimizes counting on the ground

DP. We love you. Please use that beast with an enclosed cabin machine. If you allow the implement to come off of the ground, there is a chance for kickback. I have the old style bobcat brush cutter and get kickback when I cut down larger trees. I am lucky to have an enclosed T-190. Thanks for your inspiring videos!!!

Mike if u cut forward about 10 feet then tip the front of the cutter down towards the ground and then back up it will cut the debris much finer and it will look better we call it the back drag cut. Very awesome job.

The travel speed loss is due to a low flow attachment. High flow would be 3x faster cutting because the attachment will not lose speed and momentum plus it recovers way faster. The best method I have found using ours cutter on our SVL95 is to keep the front of the cutter about 3" higher than the back and keep the back 3 to 4 inches off the ground if possible.

Greetings from Central NH Lakes Region - Really nice cutter, you are showcasing it well. I am constantly amazed at how smart Farmer Chris is. Between all the drain tile he put in on the various fields you have shown and doing things like pushing the usable acreage up with expansions like this he is really improving his bottom line. You have shown some of his equipment in the past so every acre he can improve yield is big bucks to the bottom line, especially in those fields with drainage issues. You are blessed with some incredible soil so when it is draining properly yields just skyrocket.

I think the "travel speed" quirk you mentioned is probably a tradeoff from the blade design. The 4 blades absolutely demolished the trees and brush in a split second. But, they are much harder to keep going in heavy grass. I bet if it had a more traditional round stump jumper and two blades, it would handle grass better. But, then you'd have to slow way down for the trees, hence tradeoff. :) Also, insert Diesel Creek's OSHA song. lol

That seems to be working really well. I have one but it's a Chinese version and we needed to redesign it from the start. We use ours more for cutting the fencerows back, so I am lifting the mower up as high as the skid loader will and coming down on the tree limbs. It does an awesome job but has sticks flying everywhere so you need to be aware of who might be around you. With doing that, it does throw sticks and leaves into the cab so I need to run with my door on. I like how your shields are. Mine seems to collect a lot of trash on top of the mower and yours seems to get way less. Another awesome video that you have posted. Thank you, keep them coming.

That brush cutter is quite the little beast. Should come in handy often. While I grew up in the country, it was a small 3 acre parcel. Mostly woods. But there was one section, about 2/3 the size of the piece you started at that would get over grown. Too small to spend money on power equipment so my dad did it with a scythe. 10 year old me was in tow with a sickle to take out the stuff close to the tree trunks. Loved my childhood but don't really miss that ...or shoveling coal into the coal bin in winter.

I love that new brush cutter for the skid steer, that thing sure will cut . I see several people running one of these and they do not take a full width cut in bigger stuff, they only take about a 2/3 width cut and that way it does part of an overlap cut each time, making it cut some of stuff again leaving a smoother cut . And I also see people when they come up to a taller clump of brushes - trees, they run right up to them and raise the cutter high off the ground at an angle and then bring it down on top of them, grinding them down from the top down to the ground and it doesn't choke the cutter down or the power of the skid steer, till they get through the bigger stuff and then move on forward cutting away down on the ground, till the next bigger stuff and then raise it up again and grind it from the top down to the ground . That new 210 is a monster of an excavator tearing those big trees out and moving them . I love watching videos like this and how that it really changes everything leaving the area all clean and opened up . It sure made that place look different, you all did a great job . And Matt was moving right along and was doing really good with the brush cutter - skid steer coming through behind you . I would like to have a skid steer and one of those cutters, maybe some day . One of my cousins has a smaller Chinese dozer that looks a lot like an older John Deere 450 dozer and it has a 3 point hitch and PTO and we run a big bush hog on it all the time, and I run the dozer a lot bush hogging on his farm for him about 4 miles from my farm . And you can really clean up with that setup, if it's to big to bush hog, then I go to pushing it down with the blade and piling it up and sometimes I can use the bush hog to cut the tops up with and that just leaves the trunk of the trees to haul off, then smooth it up and then go back over it sometimes with the bush hog . Thanks for the video and I will see you all later on another one, so take care and stay safe working . 🤗👍💖💫

Nice clearing job!👍🏼 Just a helpful hint to try with the brush cutter, when you're in the deep nasty & heavy stuff, tilt the front up a foot higher than the rear. Let the rear determine your material height and the front pre-cut it and it keeps from robbing all the power cuz the whole carriage isn't in all the material bogging it down. Pluss you dig in less in the woops "think shorter wheelbase", kinda the same way you get better quality mulching when back-dragging, less dramatic up and down with the terrain.😉

One trick is to raise the front up in heavy stuff and it helps chop it up as you go across it vs having to go straight into it. Works really well this way for thick briars and brush, then level it out and back up to finish it off.

Seems to do a good job. I wonder if a high flow would do even better? I don't really know if high flow would keep the rpm up longer and allow more speed of travel. I watched outdoors with the Morgan's and he tested a disc type cutter it left everything clean. If my memory is right it would cut up to 6 inch trees and grind them up. He was cutting new trails in the woods. I do remember the machine had ballistic door glass to protect the operator. I think it recommended a safe distance was 300 feet from it during operation. I am impressed with the new excavator it seems to be a work horse for sure. Will be waiting for the next video for sure.

You are going to love that bulrush cutter. We have one (different manufacturer) and use it on our Bobcat clearing cedar etc…and it is a beast. From experience if you are around rocks or potentially around rocks, I recommend closing the door on the cab and upgrading to the forestry door that is made of poly. I’ve seen (on ours and others) rocks and pieces of wood fly out the front, bounce off something and bust out the door. I know of one guy that took a rock to the face and it was not pretty.
