Opening preparation now: I will use this sideline that the computer found after a 15- hour thinking, because it gives me a slight edge after move 27. Opening preparation back then: That guy won me the other day,I will play the same opening. But there is a problem,he played black and now I play white, what shall I do?? I found it,I will play a silly move in move one, and then it will be as if I have black!!! Genius me!!!

Agree that Anderssen was amazing, but I don't see him trying to create masterpieces - you can actually see him gradually realizing that he's outplayed and see how it throws off his game.. Making increasingly unsound attacks that Morphy evades / protects and then counter-attacks. Outmatched.

I once had a chess teacher that actually taught us: "1. a3 is the best move, because that way white can play as if it were black, which is better." He played it back then (when he was 2000+) and he played it in the 2019 World Senior Championship. Just to be clear: I had forgotten his name, but I found him because of his opening - he plays every single game with white that way.

4:10 I'm probably missing something but it doesn't feel like exf3 en passant and Bxf3 works. Bxf3 allows Qh4+, either breaking the castle, or forcing white to go g3 Bxg3+ etc. Maybe Nxf3 is the line Agad meant to go through, it stops Qh4+. I might very well be wrong

Sacrificing the Queen for nothing. Seems like a good move.

didn't it seem like andersson was winning for THE ENTIRE GAME?!?! until the last 3-4 moves, it looked like he had it in the bag. except for the morphy's e3 move - it felt like morphy's moves were very obvious and reactionary. then suddenly.... poof! andersson's attack just derails. the BxR was just not sound.

Hi agad. Thanks for the videos. Could you please show players' exchanged pieces in the video as well? (maybe above and down the board) #suggestion
