I live in Spruce Pine, North Carolina. At the beginning of this doc, the footage you showed, the aerial footage of the overturned water tower in Burnsville is right by my work. I pass by it everyday. There were overturned cars next to that water tower but those are gone now. The deaths involved in this disaster are being MASSIVELY under-reported, and I don't know why. There are still several people missing that lived on my road alone, and my road is only a mile long. I personally watched my neighbor's house get torn apart and wash away. We also had a few small cell tornadoes, the kind that come with hurricanes. They're not reporting on that either. I watched one go right down the river and shear centuries-old trees in half as it went. One tore down the wall of a house a block away and threw the couch out through the wall and out into the yard. There were also some in Asheville as well. There are quite a few people at my job who lost their homes, there are several people from work who are still missing. And let's just be honest, if they are still missing, they aren't alive. It seems like almost everybody that I talk to knows someone who did not make it. One of the search and rescue teams came to my door to ask to look for "remains" on my property, and they told me that the death toll will be closer to 1,000, and one of my neighbors said that a National Guardsman told her the same. It's just unbelievable the cover-up that seems to be going on. And why?? The public is lied to about so many things, and on a very regular basis. It's just shameful.

If you mean Bigfoot activity, they don't seem to come around this area of Western NC until late fall through the winter. At least where I live, nothing goes on until it starts getting cold outside, then the activity ramps up for about 3 months and then they leave. I expect to start getting some activity here in the next few weeks.

So many times ppl come to area and portray a skewed view with mor fiction rather than a true effort of legitimacy. It'd be nice to be close enough to fly a drone toward the lights. I don't know how true but I've heard of a helicopter flying toward them just having them diminishing b4 actually getting too close. Let the rumor mill continue I guess.

About 40 years ago, in Campbell Co. Va. I observed ball lightening. One summer night, I was inside a small store, along with several other people. Across the road and down an old driveway a ball of light came into view and drifted up the driveway. It was about the size of a beachball. It continued to drift until it went out of sight, beside the building that I was in. Then it exploded at about the tone of a shotgun, but louder. The total distance that it traveled, after I saw it, was around 200 yards, and it floated about 10 feet above the ground for about 10 or 15 seconds, following the driveway. The funniest part was that an individual was sitting on the counter, talking on the phone when it exploded. He seemed to raise up a few inches and fell backwards onto the floor.

To me, when you guys did the experiment, the different lights that Jesse and Joe were doing were very crisp compared to what the Brown Mountain lights normally look like, and of course it doesn't debunk the lights that rise up above the ridge. I think a lot of what people see are other people, but the more diffused lights and the ones that rise over the ridge are less explainable.

I was raised in Gray TN and still live locally. When I was 11, I was in my bathroom getting ready for school and a ball of bright light, about the size of a soccer ball, came from one side of the bathroom, rolled over my sink and through the wall. Never seen it again but it was crazy to experience. I have experienced ball lightning one other time when I was young, but I don't fully remember the situation right off hand. It's been a minute since I was 11 😂. I kind of wonder if there is some geological reason for this. Maybe methane gas rising from the multitude of caves in these areas?

I'm a card carrying Cherokee. There's an area of that gorge my people avoided at all cost. Terrified of it. Strange thing do happen there. I hate that we were forced to Oklahoma, BUT we have "Spook Light" , which is the same thing as those lights, and you can find the archive w/ all the newspaper clippings about it, and scientific studies on it at the Miami (man...do not pronounce that wrong either. The ppl up there HATE THAT lol. It's pronounced My-am-uh.) Public Library. It's located on state line road. Joplin Mo/Quapaw Ok. I know all the ways to get there, but the easiest is take the Loma Linda Road by the BIG Truckstop on the Turnpike, just across the state line into Missouri, which goes back south into the hollers of NE Oklahoma. It's all paved now. Still dark and creepy as heck. Was always dirt rds up thru the 90s. My background is in the hard sciences. Which befuddles me as to why no one can figure out what they are. It's not ufo or paranormal either. It's geological. Mtns and hills are in constant motion. If you time-lapsed some video and then sped it up on playback. It would look like the Mtns and hills are breathing. That coupled with the quartz in the granite and the heat of the sun. Seems to me it's some sort of piezoelectric effect. Electromagnetic maybe. IDK all the rock types there off the top of my head. However trees put off lights as well. Trees are living things, and photosynthesis, while we can't see it normally with the naked eye. It does put off light. The trees expel gas as well. IT all has to be related. All these lights have been happening forever. We call them the Cherokee Lights. That's what they should remain imo. They were there before us even. Just b/c it's oral history, doesn't mean its not true or is wrong or whatever that guy was trying to say. It happened so often, that it becomes "normal" and you don't even talk about them, but avoid them. The stupid story about Cherokee maidens looking for their men lost in battle in 1200a.d. bleh. You guys are too skeptical on this one lol. It's obviously not ball lightning nor chinese lanterns. All the "English" folklore about them is crazy. Just go with what the Cherokee say about them and call them. Everything indigenous, get scooped up and renamed by the white man. I don't mean that negatively. It's just fact. They take over all the knowledge, folklore, myths, legends and oral history and then make money from it. We can't have anything remain ours, except our oral history and blood. We still exist. We Thrive.

Glad everybody made it through the rainstorm safely. Well done to Hellbent Holler, being brave as always! And hey, I know I'm only stating the obvious, but just because a distant flashlight and a mysterious orb-light may look similar from a distance under certain conditions, in no way means that the footage you filmed, or the Brown Mt. phenomenon, has been "debunked." Just because you could build a fake shark fin and drag it through the water to replicate a swimming shark (to pick a hypothetical at random) doesn't mean that there are no real sharks. Being that the lights have been witnesses for hundreds of years, since long before flashlights were invented, my money is on something emerging from a hidden form of reality into a visible form of reality. I think there's probably a sentient presence behind (or related to,) some of it, and also a natural component, like the basalt rocks discharging some kind of piezoelectricity... but who the hell really knows? Thanks for covering one of my favorite mysteries of all time!! You all rock, and I love what you're doing! Best of luck in the (grim) years to come! All the best, --N.

In October 1979, my fiancé and I spent the night in my Jeep at the 181 overlook. Weather crisp and clear. We saw two giant yellow lights blink on and off in the valley below Brown Mountain. Shortly after, a swarm of blue lights floating at treetop level, also in the valley. In binoculars, they looked like a blue cloud with solid blue bright lights slowly drifting. A while later, we saw a yellow-white orb floating just above the ridge line and moving slowly upward. The blue swarm and yellow orb lasted a few minutes. I fell in love that night with my future wife, and it cemented our bond. We married six months later and our marriage lasted 29 years until she died of pancreatic cancer. It is conjectured that the orbs are made of plasma, superhot gases. Where is that kind of energy coming from??

How on Earth did you get footage from wiseman's view?? My son and I tried to go in August and the road was absolutely impassable. We got halfway in and got my vehicle stuck, high centered on some of the ruts, tore off the back quarter panel trying not to go over the edge, I mean the ruts in the road were three and four deep. We couldn't have made it past a certain point no matter how much we had tried or wanted to. It was just literally impassible. We had to turn back. Unless maybe they've fixed the road since then. They go out there and fix the road once or twice a year. But back in August it was impassible and the worst I've ever seen it. I prefer going to the Table Rock view, just because it's right off the main road, so you won't have any problems like with the crappy dirt road to get to Wiseman's View. I saw them once very very dimly at Table Rock, but I've never seen anything at Wiseman's view. YET. 😉

@opalinkwell
@opalinkwell Ай бұрын
One would think, given that many times the lights appear to move through the forest or rise up from it, especially with that vantage point on Table Rock, a series of well placed trail cams or cameras that record over a long duration could potentially capture close up views of the lights. My first assumption is ball lightning caused by geological phenomena we simply don't understand yet. However, one should see evidence of lightning damage on the trees, and theoretically forest fires would be extremely common if ball lightning were the culprit, and I've never heard either of those issues brought up in discussions about the Brown Mountain Lights. Some sort of atmospheric plasma could be to blame but I'm not enough of a physicist to try and explain it myself, lol.

Slightly disappointed they bring any paper/chinese lanterns to launch. In 2023 the Lantern Festival started on Feb 5th. And it can be celebrated for weeks. Same with the Lunar New Year. We have an adopted Child from China and routinely celebrate the festivals. Including a lantern launch (ours are of course bio-degradable) the air currents can be very different at different altitudes especially within mountain ranges. So, I would be very interested to see those on a a camera. We have launched them in locations roughly 100-200yrds apart and they have followed different paths. And sometimes they just end up looking like starlink just following each other. There are a number of variables when it comes to the lantern. The interesting thing about your footage is it seems to be more of some form of plasma discharge. It does remind me of ball lightning. Which I believe I observed in my teens on our farm in northern IL. Only happened once. And I never saw anything like it again.

If there were any mysterious lights that I noticed on table rock, with Jessi and Joe there I could let them know and they could try to see if from up close. -Aleks

Just airplanes. Airport is just 10 miles away. Easiest way to prove it, is all their hi tech equipment that can't even focus 😂 ... you can barely see the blinking nav lights 🤣, awesome You can see these Mysterious Lights at our dog park, 40 miles away from SeaTac airport too. Does look pretty cool 😎

It's ball lightning forming from the electricity in the atmosphere over the mountain peaks

@douglasgreninger110 just my opinion could be completely wrong could be a group of sasquatch visiting from another dimension in light form hovering over the mountains my opinion is that ball lightning is more likely tho😎

it's all good but why doesnt anyone ever go underneath of them? that way you have 2 corresponding videos, even hit a 90 degree spot on the XYZ and have a 3 dimensional angle of them? because you know they could just be drones, people playing

you don't know how far away they are .. lol tho it might appear as if they are 50 diameter above the mountain a when really they are 2 mile diameter off into the stratosphere, the best you can do is get under them, then tag em with a range finder see how far away they are, why din't you hike to the spot where you seen it in the trees? markit with a high power laser on a tripod, leave it on where it was then hike down there see what if anythig it left
