Im not sure if youve read Ghost Story by Peter Straub but its my personal favourite of his. It can be slow paced at times but I love the characters so much and I do miss them from time to time.

I recently bought both of the Five Warrior Angels and preordered the third, can’t wait to get started on them!

Good review , I read Ghost Story by Peter Straub which I enjoyed and it was made in to creepy movie with Fred Astair, yes the famous dancer. I did try to read Julia but it was slow and gave up in the end. I like to read Koko, that's sounds like interesting read. Anyway, keep up the good work, you're a funny guy, Brian.

Awesome book and graphics love how they made the 3 books into 1 blue rose. I do have to say your book picks are pretty damn straight on. Thanks again for the reviews and the Brian durfee show, take care

Thanks for your excellent video. I'm so sad we lost one of the best writers. Rest in Peace Peter Straub. We miss you so much.

I have been constantly in the lookout for Straub at my local used bookshop for two years now and so far... Nada, zilch. I guess I'll have to turn to the net. Everything is on the net.

Straub's hardcovers are really hard to find in stores. I actually overheard some dudes in Halfprice Books talking about how rare it is to find them in bookstores. I have had some luck finding his little paperbacks at HPB tho

Mystery didn't work for me - somehow it doesn't ring true. Koko, on the other hand, is his best, a true masterpiece. I also enjoyed The Throat, I You Could See me Now, and his short stories, primarily the sinister "Ashputtle" and the incredibly sad "Bunny is Good Bread". I would have liked to see a sequel of sorts to Koko - M.O. Dengler is uncommonly intriguing.
