season 1 Barney is not nearly as funny as season 2-onwards. you will grow to love him 😄 he is my fave of the gang. NPH does such a great job

The mystery of the pineapple gets resolved a few seasons later as a deleted scene, don't want to spoil it for you but there's another character who is important later on and it was from their house but don't watch the deleted scene until you have gotten to that point of the show otherwise it will have spoilers, but if you are curious to know what happened with the pineapple watch the deleted scene at some point. A lot of us were also really curious about it and really wanted to know Soonce we found out it was a deleted scene a lot of us were really excited but sad that it had never been put in the show. How I met your mother does a really good job at callback episodes where they introduced something in one season and call back to it in another.

This is actually a fan favourite episode (for good reason) and i think also the one with the Highest Viewership of the series. Characterwise is fascinating that you picked Lily as your favourite but otherwise Marshall stays consistently great throughout the seasons and Ted, Robin and especially barney get better season 2 onward so be patient and enjoy.
